Maximum Ride: A New Life

Chapter 21

Max pov
     
       My head is spinning. They want restart the most dangerous operation on the planet.

      They must be fucking crazy.

    "In order to restart operation Phoenix we need y-" Started crazy person one but i cut him off.

      "You must be out of your mind if you think i am just going to willinly go with you." I growled at them.

  Person one, lets call him Phill, stared at me for a moment before sitting back in his set and sighed.

"Look. We have orders to take you and your whole party in with us s-" He started but is cut of by growling.

    I looke over to see that the growling is coming fron Anita, to a little boy that is passing by, scaring him shitless.

      At first I looked at her with the what-the-hell-are-you-doing look. But then I relized what it is she is doing.

  Rule #1 for having animals in the hotel. Of they show aggression, the must be taken outside.

   Knowing that the Mother of the child is looking at me, I turned to my 'company' and smiled apologetically. "Sorry but I have to take her out. Hotel rules. Be back soon." Before they could respond I speed walked to our room, Anita on my tail.

We gave each other a worried look. Something is happening at W.I.C.K.E.D.

Once we had our stuff packed and we canceled out room we raced to the car were the flock is waiting, worry painted over there faces.

  "Get in."

Unlocking the doors I shoved all our stuff in the trunk while they got in. In a matter of minutes we were a good half mile away.

   "Max what was that." Angel demanded. She, just like the rest of the flock, is staring at me with curiosity.

    I sighed before looking over to Anita. Catching her eye she looked at me and snorted saying "No. Not gonna happen"

     "But it would save us the trouble of keeping it in the dark."

    "The less people that know, less ways for them to find us."

   "The more people will get killed by them trying to figure out were we are."

     All I could do at that point was sigh, knowing she is right. But how am I supposed to trust them not use this information I might tell them. After all I went through it became hard to trust someone outside my family.

   And these people are no longer my family.

And even then I still keep secrets from them. I hear a sight and look over to the passenger seat at Anita. She looked down before looking up at me with determination and placed a paw on my leg.

"You dont have to tell them everything. Just what they need to know to stay alive"

I sighed, something i have been doing a lot lately, and gave her a small smile.

"Your right I will tell them." Anita smilled. "But not now." She frowned. "Imma let everyone rest first. Get some food, take a fly, im sure they need it."

For the next two hours it was silent, everyone still rilling from what almost just happen.

   They were being followed with out knowing and was almost cornered. And Max did not see them first? Anita is concerned.
 
    Soon Max stopped at a rundown gas station for gas. Max turned. "Here 10 dollers each go in and get a treat." She past out the money and gave Gazzy 30 to put in gas. He may be a sneaky boy but he is truthfull. 

   In less than 20 minutes they are back on the road. And after another 20 minutes she parked the car.

    Turning in her seat she said. "Yall have 1 hour to take a fly. It 6: 30 now be here a 7:30. If your not im only giving you 5 minutes to get here before a leave. Now go."

  Every one got out in a hurry and taken to the skis. All exepet Max and the dog.

   Anita shivered, arcing her back upward as it moved slightly, like something was stick inside.

   Ahe stayed in that possitionfor 2 minutes befor large, midnight black wings sprouted from her back. Anita shook them out before leaping high into the air. She looked down to see that Max had climed on to the hood.

   "Come on Max, dont make me fly alone." Yelled Anita fly in circle above Max's head.

   "I think im gonna sunbath first. Get some energy." She stated as her golden fire-like wings unfolded themselves.

"Well ok, im going at most a mile out. Howl if you need me." Anita said before fly into the clouds, leaving Max alone to lay in the sunrays, clearing her head

Sorry that i have out of commission with this story. Between everything thats going on the passed few months it have not had the time. Besides i have been thinking about starting a series on Young Justice, Voltron ( both i need to go see) and a few others. I promise to update more frequently. Soor bout the filler.
