Chapter 23

Max Pov

    I grind my teeth as the horrid singing gets louder.

   I reach a hand to cut the music down but a paw slaps it away. She just love to see me in pain. Taking a deep breath I look back at Nuge and Angel getting ready to start the next vurs.

  "Can to two of you be a little bit lower with your singing? I am tring to come up with a game plan for the next target."

  "But I like this song!" Yelled Nuge, leaning back into her seat at she pouted at the window. Angel, one the other hand was frowning at me.

  "Why do you called them that, they are people."

   "I not good the think of the things that you are going to kill at a living thing, it make it harder get the job over and done with. And beside......" My grip on the will tightened, turning my knuckles an ash white. " I stoped considering them human when the agrees to the jobs they have."

"They experiment and torture men, women ,kids, animals, the works. What humen do you know that dose what they do." Chimed Anita, a low growl could be heard.

   "And who exactly is they?" Said Maya, who have been leaning up a against a sleeping Fang untill now.

I looked to Anita, asking her a silent question.

   Should I tell them?

She nodded

   I sighed, cutting the music down untill it was just back ground noise.
"They are also known as W.I.C.K.E.D. And there worse that what the school dose."

"Ha!!" Yelled Gazzy, throwing his head back. "That is a funny joke, no one with worse that the school. In fact the school is one of a kind!" He said quieter what Iggy stirred .

   "Sorry to burst your little fantasy world but W.I.C.K.E.D is hella worse that the school. I am surprised that they are still up and running."

    "Why? Did something happened" squeked Gazzy, the information sinking into him, the smile completely gone.

   "First they killed a few people as well as any experiments that what to far gone to start over with them."

    "Witch was a lot." I chimed in.

  "After that they tried to get them remaining scientists to merge with them, the school said no. They place was then burned to the ground."

"And we have reason to believe that we are dealing with W.I.C.K.I.D"

"And how would you know all this?" Asked Dylen, now looking at me strangly.

   "That is none of your business." I hissed with so much venom that he visibly shrunk.

   "Lets just say that we know people." Stated Anita, a warning in her tone.

They car ride was silent for a while. They all was watching me like a hawk. Guess I scared them a little.

   A few hours later I pulled into the small town the second to final target is located.

  "Ok so the next target should be in one of the houses on this street." Said Anita, looking over the a nice looking neighborhood. I turned down the street looking for the address on the paper I held. Once found, I pulled into the drive way.

   "They moved." Says Anita as she eyes the 'For Sail' sign in fron of the yard. "Max, they are on to us."

   "One of you call home, make sure they are all right." I ordered before calling Daniel.

  After a  few rings he pick up. "Hello?" A grogy voice says

   "Daniel?"

   "Max?!" Shuffing and then a thud came through the speakers. "Max, baby! I did not expect to hear from you untill after your little prohect is complete."

   "I thought that to, but I wanted to talk to you about that. Has anything strange happen the past few days?"

    "Strange? No not really." A gasped "Wait, no some of the kids have been saying thst there are shady people eather following them or watching them. Do I need to activate 'The Protocal'?"

   "No not yet. But keep a look out. Were are gonna head back to there house and regroup. Imma call you once I get there."

   "Remember there are people that can help you "

   A smile grace my lips. "I know. And I wont forget this time."

    "Ok." A pause. "Max be careful, please?" She could here a small amount thr desperation in his voice.

   "I am going to come home Daniel. I promise."

   Another sigh "Ok. I will see you soon. I love you."

   "I love to too." I stated before hanging up. I stated at my phone for a while before looking over a Anita. She smiled.

    "So, whats up"

   "Miss. Martinez says that she sees a shadowy figure every now and then." Said Fang.

   "Ella said the same. Although she sees hers nearly every time she go out. " Chimed Nuge.

   "Alright." I muttered to myself. I pulled out of the driveway and into a parking lot a a local store. " Get something that will last you at least a week. Food and drink. And nothing you would need to cook were not stopin this time around. Exepet bathroom breaks."

    "What?!" Yelled Ashly pushing her way to the front. "The ride home is a 2 to 3 week tide. We cant keep going for that long."

   "I can turn that 3 weeks into 1 and a half if I drive fast enough. Now get out all of you and go get food." 

   After an hour we piled into the car and once again on the road. "Hold on to your seats fokes." Said Max letting the window down just a tad. She buckled Anita in.

  Then she floored it.

    Sorry its taking so long to update. I am not really feelin this book anymore and is working on the book related projects. So im trying to wrap this book up without it moving to fast. Hopefully it wont be to long.
