They didn't go swimming again, instead they went picnicking.

It was Eva's idea, Jordan's new girlfriend. A light skin girl with the most gorgeous eyes.

They were sitting on three blankets, sharing happy laughter and slightly intoxicated grins. Bringing up stories from years ago all the while making new memories.

Lauren's head was in Danielle's lap, who was playing with her hair, after a while she started sticking daisies in it.

Jordan, being the photographer he is, snapped pictures of all of it.

Danielle couldn't wait till the day she got to dig up the old photo books and show her grandchildren.

Eva proposed they get some ice cream and of course they all agreed.

"Vanilla?" Lauren asked in utter disbelief.

"Yea?" Danielle answered, looking confused.

"All these flavours and you're choosing vanilla?" She asked again.

"I like vanilla", Danielle answered with a pout.

"I'm reconsidering this relationship", Lauren stated, "to think I was going to marry you".

"Marry me hm?" Danielle raised her eyebrows.

"That was the plan, before you chose vanilla", Lauren said with a shrug.

"Shouldn't you ask me first?" Danielle asked.

"No", she shook her head.

"Why not?"

"You do everything I say anyway?" Lauren giggled.

Danielle laughed, couldn't deny the truth. Instead she pulled her girlfriend closer and kissed her softly.

"You guys, get a room, this is disgusting", Jordan yelled, he just received a middle finger from Lauren.

Two minutes into eating their ice cream and Lauren decided she wanted a lick of Danielle's.

"Hey, hands off, vanilla hater", she said.

Eva laughed, Jordan looked at them with a big grin on his face. He was happy that Danielle finally found someone.

"Can I pretty please have a lick?"

"No", Danielle crossed her arms, or well, tried to, with the ice cone still in her hands.

"Just one?"

"You disrespected her, you're not getting anything".

Lauren suddenly grabbed the cone and started running with it, Danielle shooting up and going after her.

Eventually she caught her, instead of going for her ice cream, she went straight for Lauren's mouth. Lauren responded immediately, the half molten ice cream quickly forgotten. This was a sappy day, and they wouldn't want it any other way.

"I love you", she mumbled, picking a flower out of Lauren's hair.

"I love you too, angel", she said as she tucked a loose strand behind her ear.

"I like it when you call me angel", Danielle confessed.

"Of course you do, you are an actual angel".

"Don't overdo it", Danielle teased.

"Angel, angel, angel, angel", Lauren sang childishly.

"Dork", she mumbled.

"You're the one that loves me", Lauren shot back.

"Never said you weren't my dork".

"Sap".

"Only yours".

"Yea", Lauren said, "only mine".

"We should probably head back to Jordan and Eva". Danielle said after a while.

"They're probably doing it in the bushes anyway".

Danielle gasped and covered her ears, "I do not need to hear those things about my best friend".

Lauren just laughed and took Danielle's hands in her own.

She might've been closer to the truth than she thought.

When they got back, Jordan was missing a shirt, and suspicious purple marks were covering Eva's collarbones.

The girls shot each other a knowing look and burst out laughing, their company not understanding any of it.
