Uni life is weird. One second you're all alone, and the next, you have 100 friends and acquaintances.

The latter happened to Lauren. Everyday she'd come back to her dorm, talking about a certain Christine, Adam, Elliot, Alice. And other names Danielle had already forgotten.

She loved that her girlfriend was making new friends, loved that she was finally socialising a bit, but she was scared. Sacred that Lauren might realise she's better than Danielle, that she could get a normal girlfriend. Stupid insecurities, but they were there.

She was sitting on her laptop, eyes glued to the screen, when Lauren crawled under her arm.

"Evening", she said and yawned.

Danielle's kissed the top of her head as a response.

"What're you watching?" She asked.

"How I met your mother", Danielle replied.

Lauren smiled and watched with her for about half an hour. Suddenly she closed the laptop and tilted Danielle's head towards her.

"What's the matter, baby?"

"What do you mean?" Danielle asked.

"You're awfully quiet, what's bothering you?" Lauren asked, sounding concerned.

"It's just, no, nevermind, it's stupid". She answered.

"Love, tell me, you're supposed to tell me stuff, remember?"

Danielle nodded, "I'm a bit worried that you're meeting a lot of people and will finally realise I'm not good enough for you and you'll find someone better and dump me and I wouldn't be able to blame you but also I love you and I don't want that to happen". She said in one deep breath.

Lauren just stared at her.

Danielle dropped her head, "I know it's stupid".

Lauren got in her lap and cupped her cheeks, "oh baby, is that really how you feel?"

Danielle nodded.

Lauren kissed her button nose "I won't leave you, I'll never leave you, I've worked hard enough on getting you, you're not getting rid of me that quickly". She said and Danielle laughed.

"First of all, I'll never find someone with freckles as adorable as yours".

"Freckles are extremely common", Danielle said.

"But are they as cute as yours? That's what I thought". She continued, "second, you have this badass scar on your back that I love to trace, and other people don't have that".

Danielle smiled and kept on listening.

"You're a hopeless romantic, even though you'll never admit to it. You have an amazing body, seriously, model type shit. Your hair, I love to play with it. You have such a pretty smile, and the sound of your voice makes my heart swell".

"Stop", Danielle said, "that's a lie".

"Feel my heartbeat right now, it sped up, just from hearing your voice". Lauren said, and she wasn't even kidding.

"The point is, I love you, only you, and considering there's only one you, you're stuck with me", Lauren said, "honestly Danielle, you're an amazingly unique person with a heart of gold and I wouldn't trade you for anything, you're a better girlfriend than I could've ever asked for, and if you ever even think about giving up on me, I think I'd just die, literally, die on the spot".

Danielle was crying at the end of the speech and Lauren wiped them away with a soft smile on her face.

"I love you", she whispered as she kissed her.

"I love you so much", Danielle replied, arms wrapping around her and holding her as close as ever.
