2 years ago, Danielle sat on top of her desk and asked for a math tutor. Right now, they're living in an apartment, complete with a dog running around, a bunch of flowers decorating every shelf, and sappy pictures hanging on the walls.
Danielle was preparing a bath, this was going to be a big day. Lauren walked in, looking as beautiful as ever. She sat down between Danielle's legs, who ran her hands all over her arms and chest.
Softly pressing kisses to her shoulders, she started talking. "Dress nice, I'm taking you out". She said.
"To where?" She asked, a smile creeping onto her face.
"You'll see", Danielle said, staying as vague as possible.
They got out, both walking to their closet.
Lauren went for a small white dress, a grey coat, and some white heels.
Danielle chose a white blouse, black slacks and a leather jacket, still keeping up this tough facade. She slipped on her booties and grabbed her car keys, before taking Lauren to surprise one.
"Can you grab the blanket from the trunk? I'm a bit cold", Lauren asked.
Danielle smiled, this was going as planned. "Can you grab it yourself love? I'm trying to start the car".
Lauren huffed but went anyway, 3 seconds later, she heard a small gasp. "Dan", she heard, that was her cue to come out.
Two suitcases were neatly packed, plane tickets to a country she hadn't checked yet on top of them. A giant teddy bear holding a bouquet of roses, accompanied by a letter. Next to it was a box with three bottles of champagne. Lauren stared at her.
"What have you been planning this time?" She asked, still gaping.
"You'll see", she repeated, before going back to the drivers seat. "Here's your blanket by the way", she said as she handed it over.
Lauren was starstruck.
They ended up going to Greece, on a small island with a beautiful hotel room. They were in heaven.
Danielle shoved the envelope in her pocket as they prepared for a walk on the beach. This was it.
They walked hand in hand, enjoying the sunset and each other.
Danielle took a deep breath, handed Lauren the envelope and mentally prepared.
Lauren looked confused but opened it anyway. A silver ring with blue details fell out. Lauren stared at it before taking out the paper. All it said was 'look down'.
"Danielle what's thi-oh my god", she said, her hands clasping in front of her mouth as she realised what was happening. Danielle was sitting on one knee in front of her.
"Lauren, for almost two years, I've been lucky enough to call you my girlfriend, I've grown bored of it, can I try wife?" She asked, in true Danielle fashion.
Lauren nodded, tears rolling down her cheeks, "yes, oh god, yes, Danielle get up so I can kiss that stupid grin off of your face".
Danielle got up and within seconds, a pair of soft lips were on hers, taking her breath away. Without looking, she took the ring from Lauren's hand and slipped it on her finger, before lacing their fingers together.
"My fiancée", she said as she finally pulled away. "My beautiful, beautiful fiancée".
Lauren hid her blush by walking closer to Danielle, not being able to contain her smile.
"I love you so much", she said, she wanted to shout it, for the entirety of this island to hear, but just the two of them would be enough, it was always enough.
"And I love you twice as much", Danielle responded, as she opened the door to their suite, which, of course, was littered in rose petals and candles. Could Danielle get any more romantic?
"I'm going to marry the fuck out of you", Danielle said as she pulled Lauren in bed with her. "You're gonna be my wife".
Lauren played with the ring, "wife", she repeated. "I like the sound of that".
"You know what other sound I love?" Danielle asked.
Lauren looked at her.
"The sound of you moaning my name", she said before kissing Lauren for the 1000th time that day.
