Danielle was getting ready to go to Lauren's house. Her makeup had taken longer than usual, taking in the fact that she got 1 hour of sleep last night.
Her outfit wasn't much better. Just some black legging and a hoodie. Her hair thrown into a messy bun. Would Lauren care? Probably not. She'd still look at her like the entire world revolved around her.
Lauren flew around her neck when she walked in. "Hi", she said softly.
"Hey there", Danielle answered.
They both laid down in bed, Danielle knew she wasn't going to do any studying today.
"What'd you do yesterday?" She asked Lauren.
"Studied biology", Lauren answered.
"All day?" She asked in disbelief.
"I also watched some movies, how was your night?"
"It was alright", Danielle sighed.
"How was Hayley", she asked in a certain tone.
"Oh, uh, we didn't, yea", Danielle stuttered.
"You turned a girl down?"
"I wasn't feeling well", Danielle said.
Lauren just looked at her with a glimpse of hope in her eyes.
"Don't look at me like that". Danielle said.
"Like what?" Lauren asked.
"Like you're looking right now".
Lauren shrugged and kissed right below Danielle's collarbone. This was bad, she knew she'd get hurt, she didn't care.
Danielle looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
Lauren just giggled and wrapped Danielle's arm around her. She traced shapes into her skin.
"When did you first notice me?" She asked.
"The party Elliot threw I guess, I mean, I saw you before that, only really noticed you then though".
"I noticed you the first day", Lauren admitted.
Danielle smiled, "what was so noticeable about me?"
Lauren sighed, "everything, your body, your fashion, the way you walked in, your confidence, your pretty hair".
She leaned over and kissed the ginger girl quiet.
"You're bad for me", Lauren whispered.
"Do you want me to stop?" Asked Danielle.
Lauren shook her head. Maybe bad was a good thing. Just for a moment, everything was alright, they were together. Lauren imagined that this could be them everyday. That she could come home and find Danielle already cooking.
Danielle pulled away and ran her thumb over Lauren's cheek. "You're gorgeous", she whispered.
Lauren closed her eyes and smiled. This was all so perfect.
"Your little button nose", she continued. "Your hair".
Lauren was blushing like crazy.
"Your little freckles, your pretty eyes".
"Oh stop it".
"I'm serious", Danielle insisted. "Look at how cute you are, blushing like crazy".
This is where the mistakes started happening.
Lauren looked into Danielle's eyes, a small kiss placed on her lips.
She felt so good, so at peace, so loved.
"God I'm so in love with you".
Silence.
Wide eyes staring at her.
"I'm sorry, I'll go", Danielle mumbled.
"No, no, stay, please", Lauren begged.
Danielle looked at her, she didn't want to see Lauren in pain.
"I don't want to hurt you".
"You'll hurt me more if you leave, just, please".
And so Danielle wrapped an arm around Lauren's body, pulling the girl close.
Lauren tried her hardest not to let any tears slip, she felt like an idiot, she was. How could she think someone like Danielle would ever fall for someone like her?
A few tears slipped out.
Danielle fell asleep shortly after.
Lauren thought about everything. Why was she doing this? Why didn't she want to be in a relationship? Did she ever feel like she was missing something? Would she ever date someone? Lauren didn't get it. She had been dreaming of getting married since she was 5. The thought of love made her happy. She just fell for the wrong person.
Morning came around. Lauren was dreading it. They'd have to talk about what happened. Except, Danielle acted as if it never did.
Lauren knew she should be happy and relieved, but it drove her insane. Why couldn't she acknowledge it? Even just for a second? But hours passed and still, nothing.
She felt like ripping her hair out.
"I'm gonna go to my dorm", Danielle yelled.
"yeah, bye!" Lauren said back.
That was it, she didn't even care. She was probably gonna go out tonight and find another girl to fuck with. A girl that wasn't Lauren. The thought drove her insane.
She decided that she'd go out as well that night. Even if it's just to find a replacement for Danielle.
