Second Afterlife Chapter 7

--------Karin's POV--------

knock knock

"Come in." I heard one of the doctors say. I walked in with Toshiro and saw my crazy father lying down on the hospital bed very still. I ran to his bedside and asked the doctor a very simple question.

"How bad is he doctor?" He just looked at me, then at the chart.

"Well, he has a fractured skull and several broken bones. Luckily, he doesn't have so much brain damage. He should be ready to he home in about three weeks." I swear that dad heard us talking because while I was talking to the doctor, Toshiro shook my arm.

"What is it, Toshiro?" I asked him. All he did was point at my dad's body. I saw my dad start to wake up! The doctor was frantic.

"I can't believe it. He is waking up. With his injuries he shouldn't be able to wake up right now!" After the realization that he was waking up, he went and grabbed another doctor.

I just leaned over his bed and said, very quietly, "Daddy, are you awake?" He nodded his head slowly.

Then he opened his eyes and said with a hoarse voice, "I haven't told Ichigo anything my baby girl. I haven't said anything yet." I just stared at him. 'Did he say yet?'

"Dad, why did you say yet?" It looks as if he was going to tell Ichigo, but wasn't able to.

"I said yet because he will know at some point, won't he? Either I will tell him, or you will." He is right. I can't hide it from Ichigo forever. "By the way, Karin. Have you remembered to make sure that the Soul Society doesn't find out about this?" Crap. I completely forgot about the Soul Society. If they find out about us dating, they will take Toshiro away from me forever. I will never be able to see him again.

Dad saw the look in my eyes and said, "You forgot about what the Soul Society will do to Toshiro if they find out about this." I nodded and began to cry. I turned to Toshiro so I could cry into his chest.

--------Toshiro's POV--------

After her dad reminded her of the Soul Society and how we need to keep it from them, she turned to me and began to cry so loud. To help calm her down, I rubbed her back and rocked her back and forth.

We decided not to go to Ichigo's room because he wouldn't be awake. Even if he was awake, I would let Karin go by herself. I don't want to be there and cause Ichigo to have some suspicions. I decided to just take Karin home so she could collect herself. I stayed at her house that night to help her calm down. I was able to stay in Ichigo's old room.

It was about 4:00 in the morning when I herd Karin screaming in her room. I sped off to her room as fast as I could. When I got in the room, she was lying there and thrashing around, screaming as loud as she possibly could. I ran over to her and shook her awake. When she finally woke up, she just grabbed me and hugged me like I left her for awhile.

"What was your nightmare about, Karin?" I asked her while she was still crying.

"I dreamt that the Soul Society found out that we have been dating. The head captain came to take you away. You had to use your Bankai to hold him off. Then I saw it. Head Captain Yamamoto cut you across the chest. You fell from 200 feet in the air. When you hit the ground, I ran to you. You weren't breathing. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to save you. At that point, I kept screaming. I thought that I lost you, Toshiro."

I saw how much it hurt her when she thought that I had died. "Karin believe me when I tell you this. I will never leave this life without telling you that I love you. You must believe that, always."

She nodded and wiped away her tears. For Karin's sake, I decided to sleep in her room to make sure she would be OK.
