I heard voices. Loud ones. People arguing, people fighting. Honestly, it was really annoying. I wondered what they were fighting over. A couple of the voices I seemed to recognize, wait no, all of them. I recognized all of the voices. They started becoming more... clear. More vocal. Less like... like white noise. Then, all of my memories... well... a couple of my memories I guess would be more accurate, but anyway, I remembered them. I remembered what happened. How Violet is... dead.
My eyes shot open.
Beth: "AAAH!"
Cherry was leaning over me and jumped back.
Cherry: "AH! Jeez! You almost gave me a heart attack!"
She looked at me angrily.
Beth: "S-sorry..."
Hikari: "So you're awake."
Hikari was looking at me from the corner of the room where a large group of people were surrounded.
Beth: "Where's..."
Hikari: "Violet? She's on the ground here. We're inspecting her body for clues. We found this."
Hikari went over to me and extended her arm to give me a small crumpled piece of paper. I took the paper from her and straightened it out. It was a note.
"Dear everyone, when you read this I will be dead. I have two things to say to you all.
The first is a conformation of something. The names in the book in the library I found are our real names. I am sure of this. The W-Warden of M-Magic put it there. I th-think the f-f-flux knows... He's likely the one wh-who k-k-killed me.
And the second, the order of the names is part of a code. If you use that, then you can figure out the true message. I have a string of numbers on the back of this note. I found it inside of the book. Use it with the book of names, and decode it. Oh, and one more thing. Beth. I trust you. Hide this note in your pocket or wherever else you can hide it and never take it out when Lumiere is there.
Best of luck to you all in surviving this horrific game. -Violet"
Beth: "...Why? Why didn't she say anything? Why did this happen?"
I collapsed onto the ground. I held my palms to my eyes and cried.
Beth: "Why..."
Hikari: "Mourn later. Put the note somewhere nobody can see. Lumiere is coming soon."
Beth: "How do you know that?"
I looked up at her.
Hikari: "Don't concern yourself with that. It's not important."
It was then I realized she never made eye contact with me, like her eyes were lost, not knowing where to look.
Beth: "Hikari are you... blind?"
She answered me with silence, clearly looking displeased.
Beth: "Sorry... I shouldn't have asked."
Hikari: "It's fine. Hide the note."
Beth: "R-right."
I didn't have any pockets to hide the note in, so I hid it in the right sock.
Beth: "Ok. It's hidden."
Almost immediately after I said that, I heard a voice behind me.
Lumiere: "What's hidden now?"
I jumped a little and spun around quickly.
