"You have been promoted to manager!" Marty screamed bouncing up and down like a little school girl who had just seen her first unicorn toy.

I stared at him in shock and confusion as Caleb wrapped his arms around me in order to keep me from falling.

"W-what?" I stuttered keeping my eyes down on the ground.

Marty pushed my head up and forced me to look him in the eyes.

"You are my hardest worker. You deserve it." He said slowly as if I spoke another language.

"What do you mean I am your hardest worker?! I am the ONLY worker you've had for the past three years!" I found myself saying jokingly and blushing at the same time.

I couldn't believe it. I was actually manager!!!!

"Great job!" Caleb whispered in my ear making me blush a deeper shade of red than I already was.

Marty's became wider than saucers as he stared at the two of us. Caleb's arm was rested comfortably around my waist and my face was buried in the crook of his neck.

"Omigosh!! Are you too dating?!" He screamed like a teenage girl.

Both our yes and no answers were spoken at the same time and Marty raised his eyebrow at the unclear message.

Caleb looked at me with confusion clear in his eyes and I glared back at him with a merciless gaze.

"He never asked me to be his girlfriend, so no, we are NOT official," I say firmly as I wiggle out of Caleb's unrelenting arms.

Without another word but a clear smirk on his face, Marty led us to the back room while rattling off a list of things that we were supposed to get done before we could leave tonight.

"SURPRISE!!!"

In the backroom, Marty had set up a table which had a buffet of food. And at the very end of the table sat a very large double chocolate layered cake with the words 'congratulations Candy' on it. Sammy was the one who screamed surprise from the dark recess of the roller cabinets full of the shop's supplies.

In return, I screamed and we both hugged each other grinning like crazy and acting as if we hadn't seen each other in years.

"Can you to please just stop? You literally saw each other ten minutes ago!" Caleb complained rubbing his forehead.

We ignored him and continued screaming and bouncing around for another couple of minutes, but when our throats became raw and our voices sounded like broken records, we sat down at the workbenches that were near the table that Marty sat up for the 'congratulations' party.

"Well, don't forget to get everything I told you to get done, and I am off to the farmers market to check out some cars!" Marty said waving goodbye as he left the shop.

I looked at Sammy and she looked at me and we shared a secret smile.

"Yeah, Caleb! Get to work." I demanded crossing my legs and trying to act intimidating.

"You're not my boss," he replied leaning his head against the wall and closing his eyes.

Nothing more was said, but all that could be heard were the giggles of us as we carefully filled a bucket of ice cold water and put ketchup in it. Creeping slowly back to where Caleb was resting, we quickly dumped the mixture on him.

The look on his face was absolutely priceless and in an instant, we knew we were in trouble. We ran as fast as we could in two different directions but unfortunately for me, Caleb went in my direction. In his hands were a tub of melted ice cream that had expired and a thing of mustard. He trapped me in a corner and with a evil but friendly glint in his eyes he dumped both on me making me stinky and sticky and absolutely gross.

"Ewwww!!" I screamed at him as I tried to run away again.

Instead, Caleb grabbed me and pulled me up to him igniting sparks from his touch. He pressed his lips to mine and then I was lost in a bliss.

"What is that smell?" Sammy asked as she turned the corner and spotted the two of us, "Nevermind, it is definitely you."

"Gee, thanks for leaving me to suffer," I complain still holding on to Caleb.

"I can see how much you are suffering." She said bluntly not even trying to hide a laugh.

"Oh I am suffering all right"

"I highly doubt that. By the looks of it, you were having the time of your life"

"Are you kidding?! I am covered in rotten melted ice cream and mustard. I am suffering and you didn't even try to save me!" I scream, totally winning the argument.

"Oh so now you are suffering..." Caleb said after watching the exchange between Sammy and me.

He bent down his head and began kissing my face and my neck making me fall limp. Yep, it was definitely official, I was a sucker for this man. Catching my groan I pull away from him and glare.

"Yes, I am suffering. You haven't even asked me on a real date or to be your girlfriend and now everyone seems to think we're dating!" I say trying and failing to give him the stink eye.

"Wait, you two aren't official?" Sammy asked giving us a quizzical look.

"Somebody hasn't asked," I say glaring at that certain someone, "Anyway we should probably get to work before Marty comes back.

"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow then!"

Caleb didn't say a word but left quickly to start doing what "Marty had specifically told him to do", whatever that means. I got to work on the list of what Marty had told me when he had first led us back to the back room and soon I realized it was two in the morning. Not caring that I wasn't quite done with everything, I walked towards the front of the store intending to lock up and head on my way.

Caleb appeared suddenly behind me, sweeping me up bridal style and swiftly locking the shop. Too tired to fight, I let my eyes close as I relaxed into the arms of the one man I was beginning to love.

He took me all the way to the apartments and carried me all the way to my bedroom, laying me softly on my bed. As he turned to leave, I grabbed his hand.

"Please stay"
