Rain pounded on Idris's car as they drove through the streets of Archer City, Texas.

Carson beamed when she saw the sign and ranted on and on about how much she read about the small town.

Known for their beautiful library's and old history. Idris somewhat listened, humming a response when needed. Carson didn't seem to mind as her brown eyes were trained outside the window.

Idris couldn't see a dam thing, it hadn't stopped raining since they left their hotel four hours ago. He felt on edge today, after last nights events he thought he would feel relived or better but it only made him feel worst.

His stomach twisted in knots as if it was waiting for something to happen or someone to leave.

"My god Idris pull over, you can't see anything and I can't admire any of these buildings", Carson whined sending him a pout.

Shrugging his shoulders, he turned into a small cafe. Cars were scattered in the parking lot with a few people running for shelter.

Turning off the ignition, he immediately pulled out a cigarette from his pocket lighting it up. Carson leaned her head on the window watching Idris Inhale and exhale his cigarette.

"When are we going to stop?", Carson asked.

"Stop what?", he frowned.

"Stop hopping to different towns, it would be nice to start over", she murmured staring at the small cafe with a frown.

Idris didn't think she would miss working at the cafe. He thought this was their fresh start.

"We are starting over", he stated, furrowing his thick eyebrows together.

She shook her head with a sigh.

"No, this feels like running, I want to find a place and start a life there. Maybe go to collage, get a job. Be normal for once", she said gently, her voice soft and warm.

"Normal? No one is normal", he scoffed watching her intently.

His eyes were blazing full of curiosity.

"Have you ever wanted to just...let go and start over? I mean really start over. We ran away but brought our problems with us Idris, they follow us everywhere we go if we let them. I don't want to live like this, I want a life. I want to do things and not let my past hold me back", she breathed, her eyes holding an emotion Idris couldn't pick up on.

Homesick? No way.

She had a point though. They left the town that broke them but brought their pain and memories with them. Idris didn't know how to just let that go and start over.

He didn't know how to become a better person or how to.. forgive.

"I never thought of it like that", he mumbled flicking his cigarette out the window before quickly rolling it back up.

"Don't get me wrong, I love this", she smiled waving her hand between them.

"I love traveling with you and seeing things but I also need to start my life, I'm eighteen, soon to be ninteen Idris. I want stability. I want everything I couldn't have back home. I want freedom to go to the movies when I want, I want a small group of friends, an apartment", she finished reaching over to grab his hand.

Idris understood where she was coming from. She wanted a life she could never have back in their old town and so did he. He wanted to start over more than anything but he also needed to figure himself out first. Mentally and Emotionally.

"Where do you want to stay?", he asked running his fingers through his hair.

"In a small beach town, I've always dreamed of living near the beach", she hummed smiling softly.

Idris felt his lips tug into a small grin "That would be nice", he agreed.

"Yeah? We can keep going until we find the right place", she grinned lacing her fingers through his.

Idris felt his chest warm at the word we. She didn't want to go alone. She wanted him with her and that made him feel so much more.

"You said we", he smiled shyly, his eyes fixated on their hands together.

"Wherever you go, I go. It's us against the world now", she promised, squeezing his hand gently.

Wherever you go, I go.

Oh how Idris wanted so badly to believe those words but something was coming. Something bad was going to happen.

He could feel it and he hoped to whatever was up there looking down on them that it wouldn't tear them apart.
