Ryder came to a halt. He looked over at Idris in confusion, "What's going on?", he asked, his voice laced with concern.

"That's her, the girl from three years ago", he hissed in a panic running his fingers through his hair.

Ryder's eyes widened in shock before looking at Carson than back at him.

"Holy shit she's fucking-", he stopped talking when he saw the look on Idris's face, "I meant fuck, she's ugly?"

Idris shook his head looking up at the stars above them.

He thought they'd never meet again since she was suppose to be all the way in Texas, definitely not here.

Why the fuck here of all places?

"I'm leaving mate, sorry but I can't do it", Idris spoke, looking at his friend with regret.

Ryder only smiled patting his back.

"I get it man, I'll go tell the girls and then I'll meet you back at yours, we can get drunk off our faces and play that new wii game", he grinned wiggling his eyebrows at him.

Idris let out a chuckle before frowning.

"What? You're not gonna stay? Mate you were excited for tonight so just go ahead without me", he offered.

"Nah, my best mate needs me", he winked, before pushing him towards the direction they came from.

With a grateful smile he nodded walking off without a second glance back.

He didn't want to talk to her.

Ever.

He kept her in the past for a reason.

He didn't even know what to say to her, actually he knew exactly what to say but he didn't think she would appreciate the words thrown at her.

"Idris? Idris is that you? I know that's you, I can spot those eyes a mile away", Carson's voice broke through.

She ran to stand in front of him. Her cheeks red as she wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.

Idris stood there fuming.

How the hell did she get more beautiful?

Her body had gotten smaller, her hair longer. Much longer.

"Carson", he sighed, nodding his head at her before looking around for his friend who was no where to be seen.

"I told him to go with her. I wanted to talk to you", she admitted, chewing on her bottom lip nervously.

Oh, how he was thinking of ways to murder Ryder when he saw him next.

"Why are you here?", he asked, narrowing his blue eyes at her.

"I moved to Los Angeles a few months ago, I didn't know you loved here", she whispered.

Fucking hell. Could things get any worse?

Idris felt his stomach churn. He didn't want to see her again. He couldn't bare it. He didn't want her back in his life not when his life was running so smoothly.

"Cool, well bye", he grunted, moving around her to head towards his house.

She grabbed his arm frowning. Her eyebrows pulled together in confusion.

"How are you? You look really good, you on steroids or some shit?", she asked, a chuckle escaping her red lips.

Idris shrugged his shoulders before ripping his arm away from her touch.

"Carson please, don't do this. Just leave", he whispered, his voice almost in pain.

His chest tightened and that hollow feeling came crawling back. He shut his eyes tightly pinching the bridge of his nose. Carson let out a quiet sob as tears ran down her face.

Idris stood there watching her cry, his heart breaking all over again. Without thinking he wrapped his arms around her as she buried her face in his chest.

"Oh Idris, I've missed you so much", she cried holding him closely.

Idris felt his heart warm at her words but immediately shut it down. He'd been hurt enough to last a life time he didn't want her to hurt him again.

He'd be a fool if he let her back in.

Letting her go, her arms fell limply beside her as she stared at him with regret and grief in her eyes. Idris groaned in frustration. His heart was telling him to stay while his head was telling him to leave.

"I can't", he whimpered, shaking his head and backing away from her.

She stood there sobbing, her bottom lip trembling as she watched him disappear into the night.

Idris hadn't felt like that since he drove away from her three years ago.

"Idris please, I just want to talk", she begged, her voice getting further and further away.

No.

Not now. Not ever.
