It had been a week since Idris last saw Carson. A week of intense training with Ryder to get his mind off the moody woman and a week of non stop tattoos.
He felt somewhat relieved she kept her distance but he also wanted to shake her and demand what the fuck her problem was.
Ryder had been dragging him to pubs telling him he needed to get out and get laid. Idris couldn't bring himself to touch another girl. He knew his mind would shut down and imagine a brunette with an attitude.
God she was even interfering with him getting laid.
Fucking women.
"Earth to Idris", Emilia laughed waving her hand in front of him.
Idris shook his head focusing his gaze on his receptionist. She was one hell of a good one too. When he first met her he thought she was on drugs for being so jumpy and happy.
"Sorry, what?", Idris answered leaning on the counter to see what she was doing.
"My god you're useless today, you have an appointment in five, go set up and I'll bring the guy to you", she smiled, lifting her chin in the direction of the private rooms.
Idris nodded his head giving her a small smile before disappearing into one of the empty rooms.
He really was useless today, he'd been on edge since the moment he woke up and couldn't think straight. He knew he shouldn't have come into work today but he needed a distraction.
Setting up his equipment and looking over the design the person asked for, he nodded his head in approval. The design was simple yet dark. It showed a wolf howling to the moon in almost despair.
Hearing the door open, Emilia smiled letting in a brunette girl. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail showing her brown almond eyes.
Idris cursed under his breath knowing it was the girl that hadn't left his mind in years. Carson.
He let out a groan but nodded to Emilia as she shut the door behind her.
"Take a seat", he offered as he sat on the stool.
Carson gingerly sat down, her eyes roaming the small room. It was too small and Idris suddenly felt vulnerable and exposed in front of her. He didn't like it. He didn't like being in this small room with no windows or even fresh air to help him.
Clearing his throat, he took out the design and handed it to her, "This is what I was thinking for you, Emilia told me what you wanted and where you wanted it so all you have to do is approve and we'll get started", he spoke drumming his fingers on his thigh.
Carson stared at the artwork in awe, her mouth parted as she sucked in a breath. Idris stared at her anticipating what she was about to say.
He spent an hour trying to get it right.
"This is incredible Idris, I didn't know you were so talented", she breathed looking up at him in surprise.
He shrugged his broad shoulders not knowing what to say.
"Do you like it?", he asked scratching the back of his head. She let out a small laugh, "Like it? I love it", she hummed tracing her finger over the design.
"Alright then and you want it on the back of your left shoulder?", he pointed out trying to calm his breathing and heart rate.
He was trying to treat her like any other client but fuck it was hard.
"Yes. Idris I'm sorry about coming in the other week, Alexis was pissed off at Ryder and I came along to dig it in, I don't know why we did that though, it was so stupid", she sighed taking off her cardigan and pulling her singlet down to show her bare shoulders.
"It was stupid but its in the past so let's just get this over with yeah?", he agreed moving closer to her as he placed gloves on his hands and moved his equipment beside him.
Carson gulped as she turned around and showed her bare back to him.
"I'm really sorry Idris about everything, you've been nothing but honest to me and I've been the asshole-", she stopped talking as Idris placed his large hand over her shoulder.
"Stop, now is not the time okay? Let me just do this", Idris said wiping down her back with disinfection before starting the process.
Let's just hope these four hours go by in a flash.

"Oh my god, it's even better than the drawing", Carson gasped looking at her back in the mirror.
"Glad you like it", Idris nodded cleaning up his station and throwing away bloody cloths.
Carson smiled as she scanned the tattoo. She really did love it, it was simply breathtaking.
Idris was beyond talented.
"Thank you so much", she smiled walking over to him. Idris stilled, his shoulders tense and jaw ticking.
"You can head on out now, Emilia will give you supplies to treat it over the next couple of weeks", he said, his voice low and raspy.
"Idris please, can we talk?", Carson pleaded, her eyes shining with worry and regret.
Idris let out a long sigh shaking his head. As much as he wanted to talk to her, he just couldn't.
"I don't want a repeat of last time Carson, just go", he grunted.
"No, I'm sick of leaving, I'm sick of fighting with myself every time I see you. Im fucking scared Idris, never in my life have I wanted someone so much", she spoke, "I want you, It's always been you", she whispered.
Idris stared at the woman. A million questions running through his mind.
Why now?, why not three years ago? What are you scared of? He wanted to ask but he didn't.
His heart was screaming 'yes' while the other parts begged him to walk away. Leave her like she left him.
But he couldn't... he couldn't walk away from her.
"Fuck", he cursed before storming up to the sassy brunette and slamming his lips onto hers.
Finally.
