Chapter 4

After school, of was BFF time.
"Jared asked me to Zombie Fiesta 2 at the Game Dome!" Angela squealed
"And Frederick asked me out to Zombie Fiesta 2 at the Game Dome!" Sammy bragged.
I kept quiet as they both discussed about their secret crushes named Jared and Frederick
Jared is head of the swimming team and Frederick is just some average Joe, but very good looking
"Sad?" Sammy asked "no one asked you?"
"Don't worry. We will send lots of pics!" Angela assured
"Theo asked me!" I blandly said
"You don't sound too excited!" Angela said
"He's your secret crushs, remember?" Sammy nudged me
I forced a smile to escape my lips. I kept zoning out in them but kept smiling
I was figuring out what to do about mom. How did I develop feelings for her?
After their long talk, the school began to get less exciting so we headed home.
They continued to say how they would get backstage passes and meet everyone backstage.
And blah blah blah...blah...blah...blah.
I thought about mom
Then Theo
Then mom
Then Theo
Then the Zombie Fiesta.
Their chat had actually FINALLY captivated me because they started talking about snacks
I love snacks
Especially small chops. They're my FAVE!!!
"Do you think they have small chops?" I asked
"You mean what do they not have!" Sammy corrected
"They have it all! Snacks...fancy glasses..." Angela named them all
I suddenly forgot about mom and started thinking about the great time I would have.
Away from her.
I also thought about Theo.
And what a great guy he was. He turned Mandy down.
I smiled for real. It wasn't forced this time. Theo actually turned Mandy down
I pinched myself so hard, my hand got red. So it sunk in, I wasn't in fact dreaming.
But my hand WAS numb.
Note: five pinched a day is MORE than enough to make me understand I am not dreaming.
