"That as a ball you idiot!" I yell as the umpire rang Matt Kemp up on a ball that was clearly 3 feet outside of the strike zone.
"Well aren't you a sexy little spitfire." A guy around my age smirks as he approaches my row. "Is this seat taken?" He points to the one next to me.
"No but this one will be if you sit there." I smile sweetly. The guy stares at me before turning and walking away again.
I turn to look in the dugout and immediately lock eyes with Dansby who I know was staring at me after seeing the guy approach me. I send him a smile and a thumbs up hoping it will help. As the Angles got the third out of the inning my phone began vibrating in the cup holder. Seeing it was Jeremy I decided to answer it.
"What's up bro?" I answer.
"Taegan! I can't believe I did this! Dad is gonna be so pissed oh god and mom she's gonna be disappointed oh no." Jeremy immediately rambles.
"Woah woah Jere slow down, breath. What happened." I could tell how nervous he was over what ever he was about to say.
"I got Nicole pregnant." Nicole and Jeremy have been dating on and off since high school, everyone always figured they'd end up together but right now they weren't.
"Jere I thought y'all were on a break right now?" I breath running a hand through my hair.
"We are but when I came to Atlanta a few ago for the game I kinda meet up with her and we well you know how that happened." I sigh not sure what to say. "Taegan how did I get myself into this."
"I don't know Jere. All I know is god puts the situation in our lives for a reason. Do you love her?" I ask already having an idea on what he's going to say.
"Of course I do, I always have. But you know how our lives our. She has her pediatric practice in Atlanta and I've got my firm in Macon. " Jeremy sighs. By this point I had gotten up and made my way the bathroom so I could hear better.
"Jeremy I'm gonna say this and I don't want you to get mad at me." I warn him. "But I think it's time you move home and take control of your damn life. I know you love Macon and you've made a name for yourself there but you can just transfer to Atlanta office."
"Do you know how hard that is Tae?" Jeremey asks.
"Doesn't matter Jeremy, you're about to have a family and I'll be damned if my niece or nephew grows up with out a daddy because his didn't have the balls to take ahold of the reigns of life." I don't normally get worked up but sometimes Jeremy knows how to tic my nerves. "And I know Nicole loves you, hell I had brunch with her the other week and she was talking about how much she missed you but how you couldn't be together because you work so far apart."
"I know she does but why do I have to be the one to uproot my life?" This boy I swear was making me want to pull my hair out of my head.
"Because it's your damn kid Jeremy! And not to be a bitch but Nicole has her own practice you can't just move that. You, you just work for a firm which happens to have an office in Atlanta its not rocket science Jeremy." I here him sigh on the other end of the line.
"You're right." He admits.
"I know I am." I snap back.
"I guess I'm gonna talk to my boss and see what I can work out. We'll probably be needing you in a few weeks to look for a house. Nicole's apartment isn't going to be big enough for us and a baby." I nod already knowing this.
