A Day at the Beach by
As the sun shined on this last day of June, she looked at the blue sky and smiled. No clouds could be seen and it made the sun brighter yet reassuring. She grabbed the few things she needed and headed to the beach that was right behind her little house. It was still early in the morning, but there was already many people enjoying the warm weather. It was going to be a good, relaxing day.
She was glad she hadn't forgotten to put on sunscreen when she realized she had fallen asleep for a few minutes. She sat up straighter on the beach chair and picked up the book that was in her small bag. While it might seemed hard for others to read with the noise of kids screaming, people talking or playing any sports, she easily escaped in a new world different to her present one.
Later on that day, after taking a break to eat, she walked back to the beach. As she looked at the sky she noticed clouds had started appearing. She frowned, but shrugged refusing to let anything ruin her beautiful day off. For once she could relax without having to worry about the work she had to do for her boss. It had been surprising to her when he didn't gave her anything to do at home, but she was relieved. It must have been the first time in a month that she could actually take a moment just for herself.
What seemed to be a perfect day was interrupted by the rain that started falling half an hour later. Everyone ran to hide in a safe place while the storm lasted. It was slightly colder yet refreshing. They didn't have to wait long before the sun reappeared and they all went back on the beach. A rainbow could vaguely be seen at the horizon catching a few people's attention. Kids talked excitedly and adults smiled at their reactions. It was the little details about days like this that made her the happiest.
