Sub's POV

----------------------------------------

"No, no, no no no." Denis said repeatedly as he slid down to the ground, face in his hands. When all of the sudden he stood up and jumped towards me.

"YOU'RE LYING!" He shouted as I fumbled back.

Alex wiped his eyes with his oversized hoodie and grabbed Denis' arm. "You need to calm down Denis! He can't control death!"

"IT'S YOUR FAULT HE'S DEAD!" Shouted Denis.

I've never seen this side of Denis before. I always saw the shy, awkward, backward Denis around me. It was hard to take.

"We all have to grieve." Cried Corl. "B-But-" Denis said as he sat down on the muddy ground in the alleyway, Alex following him down holding his arm.

"This is it, he's gone, just like that." Said Denis more calmly.

Denis was honestly making me feel horrible about myself. Deep inside I feel like I could have done something. That, if I wasn't in the corner, crying like a baby, Sketch would still be alive.

"You don't think it hurt me, Denis? I've known him for years longer than you have-" I started, now in tears. "And I think that I have the right to grieve without someone pulling on me to try and make me feel worse than I already do!" I finally finished, shouting.

"Denis, this isn't his fault, no one could have seen the situation coming and stopped it." Y/N chimed in. She hugged me and I hugged her back.

I think it was time to call Ethan over.

-----------------

Denis' POV

----------------

It hurt so so so bad. So much worse than I would have imagined. I always told myself, when one of my friends died, that I would always remember to be happy because that's what they would want. It didn't work out that way. I had higher expectations in myself and it held me back. I should have embraced it, now I just made my friend feel horrible about his best friend's death.

----------------

Corl's POV

---------------

It hurt a lot to see Denis like this. No one wanted him like this and I think it just happened out of no where. I don't know if I'm on his side but seeing this side of Denis honestly scared me.

---------------

Sub's POV

--------------

"No one wanted to see you like that, Denis. Let's just call Ethan over and tell him the news." I said sternly.

"I'm so sorry, I just can't believe that he's gone already. He was so young." Said Denis as he started to cry again, but no one comforted him.

I called Ethan.

"Hey, what's up? Hey, could you tell Sketch to come home? I don't want to tell him myself, we have some stuff we're going through."

That made my heart break way more than I expected it to.

"E-Ethan, please come to the alley next to Bright street, right on the corner. I have some, news." "Uh, sure man, whatever."

"He's on his way." I said as I put down my phone.

I noticed that Alex was being kind of quiet, except for when I got off the phone.

"Um, guys, can I be the one to tell Ethan the news? It's kind of personal."

We all looked at each other. "Sure but Sketch told me something right before, he, well, passed. He said to tell Ethan that he's-" I started to cry. "Sorry. I don't know why." Alex's eyes sparkled. "I'll tell him." He said trying not to cry.

Alex's POV

--------------

"Um, guys, can I be the one to tell Ethan the news? It's kind of personal."

Everyone looked at each other.

"Sure but Sketch told me something right before he, well, passed. He said to tell Ethan that- he's- sorry, I don't know why."

It burned inside of me, I knew why.

I remember walking into sketch's house where I heard to arguments going on. Sketch and Ethan's parents were fighting, like usual, but then I heard Sketch and Ethan fighting. So, I walked into there room.

A few minutes had passed and I was talking to them about the matter. Sketch walked out but Ethan sat on the bed and put his face in his hands.

He talked to me some more, it seemed to bother him more than it bothered Sketch.

"I fight with him all the time but, if he died, I think I would want to die too."

Those words struck me like an arrow. He started to cry afterwards, surely he meant it?
