Shailene's POV

"So, why did you lie to me?" I hear Theo's question. I can feel he is staring at me. I look away from him, watching the buildings and people pass by instead.

This is awkward. The man I met 3 days ago whom I thought I won't see him again, is my Four, my co-star for my first big movie. And I have lied to him. Not a good way to start getting to know to each other. I don't know what kind of answer to tell him.

I guess he hates me now. No one likes to be lied at. Honestly, I have other reasons. I have a bad experience when I was younger. I was kidnapped. I still remember the chills it gave me, no one couldn't hear you even though you have screamed as hard as you can. It was horrible. Not something I want to remember right now.

"Shailene, are you okay?" His husky voice startles me from my thoughts. I don’t realize my hands are shaking from remembering those memories. I put them on my lap, trying to stop it from shaking.

"I-I am okay, so-sorry... I was being silly... I don't usually give my name to strangers.. I mean I just met you and-" He touches my hand and somehow it calms me down, I don't even know why.

"Ssshh... it's okay. I understand." He smiles at me and I find myself smiling back at him.

"We're here." The car stops in front of my house. I try to give my money but he stops me again.

"Don't. Let me." He gives his money and I let myself out.

"Thanks, you don't have to do that." I say after the cab has gone away. I don’t know what else to do. He makes me nuts.

"It's alright. My mom has taught me better than that. She would have my a** if she knew I let a lady pays me."

He's a family man, I can tell it from the way he talks about his mom.

"Shailene! Is that you? I'm sorry I didn't answer your call befo- who is this?" Tanner stops abruptly in front of the gate. Even though he's five years younger than me, he is quite protective of me. He wants to be the man figure in our family, since my mom divorced with my father. I don't need protection.

"Tanner, meet Theo James, my co-star. Theo, meet Tanner, my little brother." I introduce them both and I catch Tanner is looking at him suspiciously.

"Hi! Pleasure to meet you." Theo gives his hand for a handshake. Tanner accepts it and they shake like a man.

"Pleasure to meet you too. I will go to my friends now, want me to grab something on the way?"

I shake my head.

"She perhaps needs a medicine for her stomach. She got sick earlier, that's why I went with her."

And now he's babysitting me. Then what? Marry me? Haha. I'm just kidding.

"Are you sick, sis?"

"I was. I am better now. You need no worry. I am strong." I flex my arm, imitating Hercules. Theo is trying not to laugh, I can see his eyes is smiling.

"Yeah sure... See you then, bye Theo."

After he's gone,  we are still standing in front of my house, staring at each other. I don't know what else to do beside enjoying the view. The plaid shirt he wears fits perfectly on him. He crosses his arms and I see those biceps.
