Jonas woke up the next morning on a park bench which by his standards was better then his 'bed' at the orphanage. The warm sun felt amazing on his face and he felt as free as a bird, like he could do anything. He had remembered the night before and how he had realized that he really did set himself free and that was the best feeling he had felt in a long time.
"Excuse me Sir could you tell me were I am?" Jonas stopped a man on the sidewalk. The tall young stranger looked welcoming.
"Um... Beacon Hill Park. Kid you look terrible are you okay?" a smile grew on Jonas's face.
"Oh man I better then okay." Jonas thanked the man and decided to take a walk through the park he had visited with his family years ago. He practically smiled at everyone and said hello to anyone who would listen.
His smile faded when he saw a poster with his face on it. The poster was from the orphanage and was asking for Jonas. Help This Sick Child was the title of this awful poster that denied Jonas of his freedom. The rest of the poster was explaining stuff about Jonas and his health and that he was a orphan abandoned by his parents. The poster said that Jonas was illegally very ill and stumbled out of the orphanage in the middle of the night because of this illness. At the bottom was a single sentence that was printed in bright red reading Warning This Child is Ill and Very Dangerous. Jonas ripped the deceitful poster in two and ran out of the park trying to figure himself out.
"Why can't I be happy for once in my life! Is that to much to ask for?" Jonas banged his fist against the wall then fell to the floor. He didn't know what to do or how to get himself away from the terrible pepole who were calling him dangerous.
"Hey you haven't I seen you somewhere before?" Jonas looked up at the voice that was calling him. He saw a young woman with short brown hair and bright blue eyes. She did in fact look very familiar but Jonas didn't want anyone to turn him in to that terrible orphanage.
"Maybe I don't know." Jonas stayed on the floor and shrugged. The lady came up to him Jonas could see that she was wearing a doctor's uniform and had a coffee in her hands.
"How old are you and where have you been? You look so sick and my God you are so thin." the lady examined Jonas's face and he let her since he was took weak to fight back and he really didn't see a point in resisting.
"I have been living on the streets and I'm fifteen." the lady kept examining Jonas's face and felt his forehead.
"What's your name?" Jonas hesitated but the lady looked like she hadn't seen Jonas's picture considering she was examining his face and still hadn't taken him back to the orphanage yet.
"My name is Jonas King." the lady dropped Jonas's face and looked at him in shock.
"Jonas King? Is your father Blake King?" the lady looked absolutely dumbstruck at Jonas's answer. Jonas nodded and saw the lady's eyes light up.
"Well Mr. King it's nice to see you again." Jonas was very confused at the lady's strange reaction.
"What?"
"Jonas it's me Doctor Johns. I took care of you after you got in that car crash." Jonas stared at Doc Johns in disbelief.
"Victoria?"
"Yes Jonas I work at the Royal Victoria Hospital I'm glad you remember."
"No my sister Victoria." Ms Johns face sank and she took a sip of her coffee.
"She was very sick Jonas, um... she woke up but her heart."
"I know she was sick but tell me she's alive!"
