a sigh escaped my parted lips, not being able to resist feeling relieved that it was the end of the day. on the staircase i was, outside of the school. ryan's sister, sara, was going to be picking me up today. i honestly adored her.
she reminded me of my brother in many ways, she always was independent and attempted to make others happy even when she wasn't. apparently, i was going to a party tonight. partying with a whole bunch of drunk jocks around me wasn't really what i dug, but the guys thought i could loosen up a bit. it was friday, so i thought why not? i won't be alone considering ryan will be there.
my hand reached down into my pocket, grabbing the pack of cigarettes that i had gotten the other day. i took one out, managing the stick in my mouth as it was soon being held by my lips. the smoke invaded the air in its artistic way, as i remained taking slow draws.
"greetings and salutations." an unfamiliar voice spoken up, as my head immediently turned around. "ah, would you look at that? its the famous jason dean." my sarcastic tone slipped from out of my mouth, his fingertips rummaging through his raven locks while carelessly giving in a chuckle. that was a different kind of greeting, something i couldn't help but to remember. "i mean, if that's what you want to call me." the dull haired boy insisted, managing himself next to me on the step.
"you have another one of those, darling?" he inquired, obviously mentioning the stick that was now in between my fingers.
a light laugh laced my words, rolling my hazel irises in a playful manner. "and i should give you one because?" i chimed in, giving him room to fill in the statement.
"because, i'll pay you with a slushie sometime, hm?" i shrugged, while pulling another cigarette out of the box. "whatever." i uttered, passing the toxic stick over to him.
moments later, a car pulled up in front of us, my eyes lighting up as sara arrived. giving her a wave, i straightened my posture and positioned myself up from where i was placed, roaming towards the vehicle.
"wait! girl with the attitude, i never got your name." he chimed back in with a shout, causing me to cross my arms while giving in another eye roll. "the names ivy." i exclaimed, the sight of him being replaced my the car door.
considering she didn't live for from the school, we shortly after attended her drive way. i took a glance out the window as sara parked her vehicle, the two of us eventually walking inside as i followed her to her room to find me an outfit.
i wasn't quite concerned with my appearance, but i knew it would bring her joy to find me an outfit. the girl has been through hell and back, and always puts others before her. the least i can do is make her happy by this one little favor.
"you know, you don't have to make me all fancy." i spoke truthfully, knowing i was just going there for a few drinks. that's it. "i know, but i want you to look at least decent." she practically pleaded, her eyes scanning her closet through her dozens of clothes.
the ginger soon found something for me, while pulling it out. she then held a grey and black dress, it revealed shoulders and little straps that went up to them. it stopped at my knees, not too short or too long. the bottom half was black, leaving the rest grey, and it wasn't too fancy.
"here, go try this on!" she said all happily, while she swung it over to me. my hand gently took it, while walking over to the bathroom. i stripped my clothes off, as the dress soon wrapped around my figure.
i brought myself over to the mirror, shrugging my shoulders at the outcome. i was just glad it wasn't too short, i didn't feel like dealing with those asshole jocks who treat women like toys and take advantage of them. well not me. i'm not that stupid.
i put on a small amount of makeup, only on my eyes though. i wasn't one who was to fond of makeup, and i just thought it didn't matter. who cares whats on the outside? a lot of people do, unfortunately. once i was done, i walked out of the bathroom while roaming back over to her room.
her eyes lit up, with the biggest smile planted on her face from my presence. "ah! you look stunning!" she squealed all excited, as my lips formed into a slight smile from seeing her happy. "yeah, yeah. i guess we should get going now, shall we?" i asked carelessly, as we left the house.
