Ring ring ring, I woke up to my cell phone ringing, I saw grass and heard the river and Ezra's light snoring, I was tucked into his chest with his arms over my waist and chest hugging me to him, I reached in my pocket, and answered it, "hello?" I whispered staying where I was, as Ezra kept sleeping I smiled knowing that last night wasn't a dream,
"Shane, are you okay? Where are you?" Barbra's concerned voice filled the phone.
"I'm okay, I spent the night at a friends, I'll be back soon." I replied calmly.
"Your wheelchair is sitting on the driveway!" She was almost frantic," are you really okay?" She asked again.
"I promise I'm fine everything is fine, I didn't need my wheelchair so I didn't take it." I replied.
"I know I may not be the best mother, but Shane I need to know where you are at all times, you can see friends but I want to know who and where." She said with her motherly authority.
"Okay I get it, I'll be back soon, tell Calvin not to worry." I replied sleepily.
I hung up and closed my eyes again, I could feel a slight hangover from the alcohol last night and it didn't feel nice, I had slept great last night and I wondered if Ezra had anything to do with it.
A light breeze fanned my face and I could feel the heat of the sun shining down on us and I could hear many different birds, it was like I was in a tropical oasis.
I felt Ezra shift behind me and he stopped snoring, I guess he was awake now, but I wanted to sleep longer,if it meant I didn't have to go back to Barbra's house yet, so I kept my eyes closed and stayed still, a sudden anxiety burning at the pit of my stomach.
Ezra's hand around my waist moved lower around my stomach pulling me closer to him, his hand brushed the bare skin that my shirt revealed from riding up, he smoothed his thumb over my belly button a couple times making me shiver making Ezra chuckle a low husky sound., damn so much for pretending to be asleep.
"I new you were awake." Ezra breathed in my ear, making me groan in annoyance.
I turned around in his arms face to face with him, "how did you know?" I asked him, his hair was messy and sticking out in odd places, his eyes were sleepy as he rubbed one of them.
"You snore when you sleep." She smirked at me, my face turned into a surprised look, "no I don't!" I exclaimed to him." Your the one who snores."
"No I don't." He mocked me in a high pitched voice.
I made a face at him." Well you have morning breath." I replied.
"You probably do to." He said reasonably."I might sleep some more."
"Yeah." I agreed we just stared at each other.
"What time is it?" He asked me.
"Almost six...I don't want this to end..." I said randomly, my anxiety coming to the surface ."because when I wake up what if it's all over I mean this was unexpected, but whatever happened I'm glad that it happened, I'm just scared of the future cause maybe you and me are just a dream and No one has a happy ending." I rambled in thought, I was oozing with emotion right now and had feelings I'd never felt before.
I Thought about Roary right now, if he were here he'd call me pessimistic and tell me to create my own happy ending.
