Xavier's POV

I left Eva in our room to settle down and walked towards my office. Opening the door, I saw Asher and Theo already waiting for me. Both stood up as I entered.

"Hello, Alpha," they said as I walked towards my chair.

I just nodded in reply.

"So, have you got the list?" I asked Theo as I sat in my chair.

"Yeah, here you go," he said as he passed the paper to me.

I looked at the names and nodded my head at him.

"Keep an eye on them, Asher. They should know it's not an easy job, guarding the borders," I said as I turned towards Asher.

"Yes, Alpha. I will," he replied back.

"How is it going at the borders? Any sighting of the rogues?"

"No, Alpha. I was at the border whole day but there was nothing out of order," he replied back.

"Ahan," I replied.

One hour later, we were still discussing the pack borders. Theo thinks that Northern border is unsafe as most of the area is covered by woods and most of the time rogues entered our territory from that border.

I was about to reply him when the door suddenly burst open and in walked Zander with Evangeline being dragged from her wrist. All three of us stood up and looked towards them. Eva was struggling to free her wrist.

What the hell? My wolf was getting angrier. How could he touch our mate like that? Brother or not, he should know his place and respect his Luna.

"What the hell is she doing here, Xavier? She came into our home and ate my pizza. She isn't even the least bit sorry," he said harshly jerking her towards the desk.

My wolf was screaming in my head to give him the control but I fought him.

My body was shaking with rage. I was seeing red. I walked around the desk towards Zander and punched him hard. He fell to the ground with a loud thud. I crouched down and picked him up from his shirt collar.

"She is my mate and your Luna," I growled angrily.

His eyes widened and he looked past me towards Eva.

"R-Red face is your m-mate?" he asked, not believing it.

"Her name is Evangeline and you will respect her," I growled warningly.

I released him and straightened.

"Honestly, these are your manners? If someone unknowingly ate something you kept just because they were hungry, you'd act like a rabid dog?" I asked him.

He looked down feeling ashamed as I stepped back.

"Get out of my office. And don't show me your face until you've learned to respect others," I turned around feeling calmer than before.

I heard his footsteps fade away indicating he has left.

"You two can leave," I said, my eyes fixed on my mate.

I heard the door close before I pulled her into my arms. I breathed in her scent, my wolf feeling content. Picking her up, I walked towards my chair and sat with her in my arms. She buried her head in my shoulder and started crying. I just stroked her hair gently and let her cry.
