YOUR P.O.V

Today is the day. Jaehyun thought that it would be a great day to introduce me to his parents. I'm going over to their house for dinner later.

Right now, I was on my balcony. It was a one in a million chance for me to be able to sit there and not think about the files piling up on my table at the hospital. Thinking about rest, I got reminded of my intended trip to Australia to let loose. The letter got approved and I was glad that I could catch up on some sleep during my week-long break. Plus, I've not informed Jaehyun that I'll be gone for a week yet.

Speaking about him, he has promised to pick me up at 6pm later. I should start picking out an outfit. Of course a good first impression should be formed. They are my future in-laws and I need to give them an impression that I'm a good other half for Jaehyun.

I looked at my reflection of the glass door. Oh my god Minhee. You're crazy. Who said he was going to propose to you? Well, I don't even know if I can live till that day when I can say "I do".

The cold breeze blew against my face and my hair got blown to the back. It felt really refreshing which is why they like to call this 'healing time'.

"Ding!" I picked up my phone to check who the text message is from. "Jae."

Message from Jae:

Min! Are you preparing?

I chuckled at his message. We were 2 hours away and he seems so excited.

Message sent to Jae:

Can I not go?

Can I not|

Can|

I'm trying to choose a nice outfit.

I clicked on send. I don't want to disappoint him because he has been texting me everyday since he got permission from his parents to bring me over and he never failed to remind me of the meeting.

I stood up and headed towards my closet. Looking at it now, my closet is so monochromatic. "I totally need some colours in my life." I picked up a white blouse with a rose embroidered on the left pocket. "Should I go for a dress instead?" I then placed the blouse on my bed and looked through my closet for a nice dress. "Ding!"

Message from Jae:

You can wear anything and you'll still look pretty.

I giggled at his message and decided not to reply. I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyebags were so dark they could blend in with the black clothes in my closet. I was so skinny my arms look like a pair of chopsticks. I look like I aged 20 years in the span of a mere few days. What am I doing to myself?

I shifted my focus back to picking out a dress for tonight. Most of what I've pulled out were not fitting for me. The waist were either too wide or the shoulders were too tight. I pasted a mental note to go shopping in Australia for outfits. I decided to go with the white blouse and a pair of black jeans ripped at the ankles. I headed to my vanity to apply a buckload of concealer under my eyes, some lip tint to cover up my pale lips and to top it off, I went through my lashes with a mascara I dug out from the bottom of the drawer.

At least I looked healthier now. Was my condition deteriorating? I feel as light as feather one moment and my head feels weighed down by a bag of stones the next.

I heard the doorbell ring and I ran over to open the front door. I was greeted by a pair of soft eyes and a wide smile. "Hello, milady. Are you ready to be escorted by your prince?" I laughed as he used his French accent which never existed. To complete the look, I slipped on a pair of nude coloured flats.

"Miss Minhee, may I know where the hell are you heading to? Do I not exist to you anymore? Do you think you can get out any time you like without informing us? Isn't that a little rude? Oh. Look who we have here. A fine gentleman, ay?" I scoffed at him. I rolled my eyes away and attempted to pull Jaehyun with me.

God, will he ever just understand the situation?! Jaehyun walked right into my house and greeted my father.

"Hello, I'm Jung Jaehyun." My heart skipped a beat. "H-Hello. I'm Minhee's f-father. Where are you bringing her to?" He was wide-eyed and stuttering. Jaehyun's looks must have took his breath away. HA!

"I'm bringing her out for a da-er... walk." I heaved a sigh of relief as he did not expose our relationship. "O-Okay. Be careful." Why did he look so flustered though?

I immediately pulled Jaehyun out of my house and shut the door with a loud bang. "WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING, YOUNG MAN?" He gave me an innocent look and shrugged his shoulders. He dragged me into his car and started driving off. "What? I can't say hi to your parents? They may be my parents in future you know?" I blushed at that statement. He talks about it so casually while tapping his fingers on the steering wheel while his words pack a punch for me.

He held onto my trembling hand as he could see how nervous I got when we were nearing his house. "Don't worry. My parents are really nice people. I'm sure they'll like you." Well, that's what every drama says.

When we arrived, I stepped back as Jaehyun fished out his keys from his pocket to open the front door. I did not want to inch any closer to 'hell'. You see. I told you guys I'm naturally awkward around people, right?

My heart started beating faster, and faster. I was on the verge of fainting when Jaehyun held on to my hands and led me into his house. It was nice and comfy, not what I expected it to be like.

I smelled the scent of kimchi stew as we approached the dining area. "Omma, Appa, I'm home!" Jaehyun's father walked out of the kitchen while holding on to a pot of the fragrant kimchi stew. "Hello! I'm Minhee." Jaehyun gave me a nudge and winked at me. What was he trying to hint at? His father gave me a smile before returning to the kitchen to help his wife out.

I furrowed my brows together, unsure of his hint, until he said something that made my heart flutter. It was so close to flying right out of my chest and running away. "Appa she forgot to say she's my girlfriend." I swear my face was burning hot and red just like the kimchi stew on the table. I gave Jaehyun's hand a squeeze and let out an awkward chuckle. Gosh what is he doing to my heart?

I dragged him to the living room and stared at him with my burning eyes. "Jae, what are you doing? You know my heart is wrong in a way and I'm not supposed to feel..." I got cut off as he pecked my lips. "JAE!" I whisper-shouted and punched him in the arm.

I got tangled in too much feelings. I wasn't supposed to. Until I met you. I got engulfed into his warm embrace and I could feel tears brimming at my eyes as he finally spoke. "Min, I don't care. I'm treating you as a normal person. As my girlfriend. You're supposed to feel this way in a relationship. I'm not here to treat you like a patient and be cold to you."

"Thank you Jae." He was really my only source of mental support. I wished we could be together until we die, in our next lives and so on too. But I'm unsure of the future because my time might be running out without me knowing. I should approach my doctor soon.

"Kids, it's time for dinner!" I heard an excited mom shouting from the dining area. We walked over hand in hand and I immediately bowed once I saw Jaehyun's mother. "Hello. I'm Minhee." I earned another nudge again from, you know who.

"Jaehyun's girlfriend," I continued. Suddenly, a sound of glass shattering was heard. I immediately stood up as I was startled. Jaehyun's mother had just dropped the plate of kimchi and was staring at me with wide eyes.

A/N:
Yall I feel so emotional after writing this chapter. I know what's coming up and you guys may not like the ending. I was thinking if Jae and Min should have a happy ending or a sad one. But I figured I should attempt something I never tried before. Share this story with your friends!
