XIII. Midnight

It's almost midnight,
I stand here in the middle of the street alone
Wondering where you are right now
Searching for the trails you left for me

The smiles you used to show me,
Where have they all gone?
I follow the sound of your melodic laugh
But why is it fading away?

I hear the bird sing a familiar melody
Was it your favorite one?
When the cold wind whispers in my ear,
Is it you who's whispering to me?

Where are you now?
It's like my whole world fell apart
The memories of you and me together
Can't we revive them once more before I go?

Someone asked me the meaning of my life
And I said your name
Now, I wonder why I'm still breathing
When you're not by my side anymore

Once more, can we go back
To the times when everything seemed perfect
To when everything else didn't matter
Just you and me together
