My five year-old, she lies a lot,
And I wanted it to end,
So I told her about the boy who cried "wolf!"
Hoping she would comprehend."He kept crying 'wolf!' when there was no wolf,"
I told my daughter, whom I adore.
"When the wolf came to eat him, he called for help,
But no one listened anymore."My daughter's eyes grew wide; It looked like she got it;
My heart was all aglow.
But she dashed my hopes to the ground when she nodded and said,
"I was eaten by a wolf once, you know."
