Chapter 1 : The Normal Days

I've gotten used to it the dead bodies on the ground. I step over a dead one and then another the smell is vile I suffocate in the smell sometimes, I just don't breathe but the stench still finds a way in.

Bang

Great more gunfire the world never seems to stop even after it ends. I hear a voice to my left, a young man he's got a very hoarse voice.

Silence

Again, the world is quiet sometimes it makes you feel deaf. I look to my right to check for anyone as I glare up a woman is standing at her window, staring down at me, but as she draws her weapon to shoot me she's tossed out of her window and that's when I felt the gun against the back of my head...

Three Years Before

I walk through the streets to my job interview today's the day I meet my new boss I hope. A hand grabs my shoulder I turn around to see my best friend, she's finally back off her holiday. As we talk about her holiday and my life back in Washington but the conversation ends when there's an emergency broadcast on the tv about a disease which has broken containment. They say it's nothing to worry about.

"That's what they always say, but it's always The end of the world" Shouts Emily.

As soon as she shut her mouth 2 ambulances and a few police cars zoom past, I tell her something is not right, but she won't shut up about some guy she met in the UK. My phone rings 'Mum' I answer the phone to my mom crying, she tells me something that I won't forget " They're coming the monsters are coming they've... Killed him"

I try and calm her down, but the phone cuts off. I jump out of my chair and run to my car as I speed away to get to my Mum's house there are people on the road covered in blood I don't know what to do.

Smash

I manage to pull my head up to see the wreckage of my car and the truck that hit me. I force myself out of the car where a see a woman impaled by a spike but somehow alive. I run to my Mum's house to see her in the window screaming, I burst through the door to see her covered in blood and being attacked by my step-dad.

I push him off her to reveal a bite on her neck. I call 911 to get my mum some help but they won't answer what is happening in the world. What happened to Emily I shouldn't have just left her like that I hope she will be ok. I'm pushed to the floor, my mum screams as my step-dad climbs on top of me. He reaches for my face and as he tries to bite me a load of blood sprays in my face. I push my step-dad of me and wipe the blood from my face to see my step-dad with a pipe through his face...
