Chapter 6 : New Friends

I get dressed up to go to dinner with Alex, I take out my red dress and my red heels just something bright and something that stands out. I do my hair then grab my bag and my knife. I leave the house and lock the door, I walk through the courtyard and start making my way towards Pipers Restaurant I go inside and look at the time.

"Don't you look fancy" I turn around to see Piper.

"Are you going on a date or something?"

I tell her no because I'm only going to dinner with Alex to speak about this place.

"Hey Lola"

Alex comes up from behind me "want to go to my place" I look at him, shocked as he's wearing a black suit and he looks really smart.

"Sure, let's go"

I say bye to Piper then Alex and I leave the building. We walk down the street, he takes me to the biggest house in Whitefield we walk up the path and enter the house. White walls, three stories, glass door mansion. It's a celebrity home, I look around at all his furniture and all his decorations, he shows me to the dining table and I sit down. He walks into the kitchen and walks out with two plates, he places a plate in front of me. I start to eat my Pasta and so does he, we talk about building more houses and extending the walls until he goes and gets dessert. He returns to the table with Ice-Cream and waffles. I dig into my dessert and I eat it within 10 minutes.

"Thank you, Alex, it was really nice" He smiles at me.

"Your welcome".

He finishes off his dessert and he takes the bowls away. He washes the dishes, he takes me to the second floor and we sit on the balcony. He tells me how he became the leader of Whitefield, his dad used to own the city and the courtyard, so after the breakout, they started building the walls and extra houses.

"Lola, I need to tell you something"

He looks at me like he's confused, I was also confused "What do you want to tell me, Alex"

He looks down and starts to look up at the sky. I ask if everything is ok but he just ignores me "Lola I... Lo-".

Bang.

We both divert our heads to the courtyard to see the flash of gunshots we run into his house and Alex grabs his gun, he opens a drawer and gives me an Ak we run out of the front door and down to the courtyard. We see a bunch of biters, but they were all dead. I look around to see one of the walls has collapsed. I start to look for people that are injured to see if anyone was bitten or crushed by the wall. I run to Pipers Restaurant and she's not inside I check outside and see her standing there unharmed, I hug her and we walk over to Alex. He commands everyone to start moving the bodies. Everyone starts to help by putting them in one pile to burn them. I drag a body of a biter to realise it was a citizen that lived in Whitefield, she was shot by one of the men by mistake. I drag her body onto the pile Alex comes up to me.

"So do think you can help get the walls back up and secured," Alex says grabbing my shoulder.

I smile at him, he smiles back Piper walks up to me and offers to help "Okay, Piper you get that corner and help them and I'll go over here and help these".

She follows my orders and helps lift up one corner. I realised at this moment that everyone here cares for each other, about 50 people push the wall up together, maybe even more with one push the wall is put back into place and the builders of Whitefield start securing the wall and making sure it's deeper into the ground.

I go to Alex to give him the Ak back but he tells me to keep it, I say bye to all my friends and I walk away with my Ak on my back. I unlock my door and walk in, I lock the door and go upstairs into my room, I throw my gun on the ground and take my clothes off and throw them on the ground, my new red dress covered in blood and mud. I must have left my heels outside, but never mind, I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get in the shower.

I get out of the shower and brush my teeth I put on my pyjamas and go downstairs into my kitchen for a snack then a gun is pressed against my head "Where's Alex, I need to kill him ?"

Chapter 7: The Man With The Gun Part 1

I'm sorry that this chapter was a bit more Romantic at the start but in the next chapter a lot of stuff goes down and the main enemy will be introduced.
