The warehouse is pitch black and his office is lit up by a single candle. We carry on talking about our life stories we talk about all the people we have lost our friends and families the more we speak the nicer he seems he's told me near enough everything about himself.
"Would you like a tour of this place?" He says in a calm voice.
I say yes, because I'm starting to like it here and I've not even seen it all we walk outside the office into the warehouse he commands one of his men to open the giant metal gate at the front of the warehouse. I put my head down to keep the light out of my eyes, he grabs me and says.
"Here we are"
I lift my head up to see a gigantic courtyard filled with houses and people I look around me to witness what seems to be a community of some sort.
A woman comes up to me and offers me a drink, but I refuse to take it because I'm still not sure about this place.
Alex whispers in my ear "Welcome to Whitefield"
I'm left without words. Alex grabs me and takes me to a restaurant I sit down at a table with him a woman walks up to me and gives me a menu. I'm confused about why they have all this stuff all this food. I choose the chicken off the menu just something simple for now. At this moment I realise things are starting to look up the waiter comes with my food she's a nice woman very friendly.
"Hi, I'm Piper how is your food?"
I tell her it's the best food I've had in months and she just smiles then walks away.
"So are you a good fighter?" Alex asks.
I tell him I am because I think I am, I've survived for months by myself. He looks at me suspiciously and then he takes out a notepad and starts to write things down. He asks me if I would stay here I tell him that I need to think about it because I still don't know everything about this place it could just be a trap to kill me.
We finish eating our food and we leave the restaurant, he takes me to the infirmary for a check up. What's really confusing to me is why are they being so nice to me. The doctor tells me everything is fine and that I'm in good condition, but he said some of the cuts may scar but it's nothing to worry about.
I tell Alex my thoughts about him and this place and how I feel like they're hiding something he puts his hands on my shoulders and tells me everything is ok and that everything will be told to me eventually. I ask him questions about if I lived here where would I stay he walks me to a house, it's a big house white wooden walls, cut grass everything a nice home needs.
He asks me again if I'm moving there, but I'm still not sure he grabs my arm and tells me that being here is going to be like how things used to be. But it will make me weak, it will make me care for more people, but sometimes that could be a good thing I close my eyes and think about what my mum would want and what Emily would've wanted I turn around to Alex and say
"I'm Moving In"
