Lost Inside

Chapter 6

          Eren woke up in the chair that he had been knocked out in. His eyes fluttered open, bright lights blinding him and making him flinch. He leaned forward and rubbed his eyes with his palms. He looked around. The room was empty except for the sleeping Sarah in the hospital bed next to him.
         He sighed and pulled his phone from his pocket. Eren checked the time on his screen.
         10:32 a.m.
         He wasn't going to school today. He didn't want to. He didn't feel like it. Plus he wanted to stay with Sarah.
         Eren looked down at the floor beneath his feet, rubbed his eyes, then rubbed his forehead before leaning back in his chair and closing his eyes, thinking.
         After about five minutes with the sound of nothing but hospital noises, Eren's stomach began to growl.
"Hm." he said quietly.
          Eren yawned, stood and stretched, looked at Sarah, who was sound asleep, and headed out into the hall.
          The hallway was gleaming. The white walls and the white shining tile floor. The big, bright lights made everything bright. Eren cringed.
          He walked down the hall until he came up to a vending machine. He pulled a dollar from his pocket and put it in the machine. He pulled a bag of chips out from the bottom slot of the vending machine. He pulled open the bag and munched on the chips as he made his way back to Sarah's hospital room.
         Eren walked into the room.
"Eren?!" came a shocked voice.
