Getting Ready
Loren had finished her set
Was she eager? You bet!
As today was their double date
And she refused to be late.
She got all gussied up
Pulled out her best dress
Got a glimpse of her hair
"Oh Dear! What a mess!"
"Can you help me with this tie?
Why am I so nervous?"
Loren giggled at her brother.
"I'll give you one guess?"
"Myna." He shook his head
His thoughts of love long ago dead
Have suddenly resurrected
And now to feelings he's subjected
He felt like a teen
Red he had seen
When it was mentioned
Her polishin' boots.
3Gun said, "It was the SSS
They were all in cahoots
To make his life a mess."
And Lorne didn't' quite get the rest
He mumbled as he walked away.
Somethin about understandin'
Less and less, with each passin' day.
Now Lorne was dressed
In his Sunday best,
"Oh Loren, I hope she'll see
Through this polish and
Realize underneath
I gotta be me..."
Loren kissed his cheek
You'll do just fine.
"It's just dinner, some dancing
maybe some wine.
Now go down stairs and wait
I promise I won't be late
But I have to do somethin' with this hair."
"I doubt AJ will care. He can't help but stare."
"Shut-up and get. I ain't done impressin' him yet."
"Fine, have it your way. It's been a really great day."
He left without another word.
He had not heard
The song she sung to herself
As she made sure she was top-shelf.
One final glance met with her approval.
Her heart filled with joy.
Soon she'd be with him again.
Her Honey boy.
