Puppy Love
The Red house girls staffed the booth.
Autumn filled with dread.
As next in line was some one tooth
Cowboy blockhead.
Since that fateful day
When she was saved by Billy and AJ
She didn't feel right
just giving her kisses away
But she did, to support the rest
For her sisters from the Red House
She'd do her best.
Then she heard a yip-yip
And couldn't believe it
The cutest little pup
In her lap did jump up
The one tooth cowboy took a seat
"Close your eyes," she said, oh so sweet.
To which he did comply
"Alright," she whispered to the little dog,
"Let's give this a try."
She lifted the dog from his place
And he licked the cowboy's face
Autumn tried not to laugh
At the looks across which
The cowboy's face passed.
"Okay, she said your turn is over."
As she hid under the table little rover
The cowboy from to booth did book
After giving her a really strange look
Autumn kissed the pup.
"Thanks for getting me off the hook."
She gave him some lemonade from her cup
The dog eagerly lapped it up.
Then Tiger jumped down
And pranced through town.
Singing...
I am a cha-cha-cha Chihuahua
Jujube had a good laugh
As he watched what came to pass
The red head had spirit
His heart picked up pace
He wondered "Could she hear it?"
As suddenly their eyes met
and she refused to look way
Instead she said boldly,
"Kisses, only 5 cents today."
Jujube got in line
Biding his time
To see if it were true
Not trusting his feelings
After what happened with Rue
He stood before her, she took his hand
She lead him away from the stand
She'd been hurt before
But something in his eyes
She dared, where she never did before
Another girl took her place
Autumn looked up at his face
"I still owe you a kiss."
"Then you'll be wanting this."
Jujube showed her the money.
And Autumn closed his fist.
The look in her eyes
Had him mesmerized.
"Don't," he pleaded.
Unless you mean it.
I haven't recovered from my last fall."
"Don't worry. I promise this won't hurt at all."
She took his face within her hands
Just a kiss was all she planned
but when lips touched
Her smile grew...
"I just knew...
I was made for loving you."
