Lone Wolf

I stand mesmerised by the two wolves fighting. They scratch and bite each other to prove who is stronger.... and then one of them runs off to a different painting. Today is the first time I take the time to look at the intriguing paintings of Hogwarts. It's amazing how each person and animal are actually moving, thinking and talking. I suddenly realise the time and start to run to class. I get to transfiguration just as Professor McGonagal walks in. She gives me stern look, to which I quickly scamper to my seat. I take a seat next to Rose, who must have saved it for me.
"I'm really sorry about my brother. He is such an imbecile" she whispers to me.
"It's not your fault." I respond. I'm going to avoid Ren and Justin all day. It's the easiest thing to do.
"Now everyone pick up your wand and place your teacups on the table" Professor McGonagal instructs while looking at Rose and I so we will stop talking.
"Now every flick your wand like so and say the spell" she continues. The class does as they are told, and soon there is a few rats sitting in the place of a teacup. At first only a few of the Ravenclaws get it right (including Rose). I look my teacup that has grown a tail. Not quite right, but close. By the end of the class most people have got the spell right. I managed to turn the teacup into a rat, but the rat had the same markings as the teacup. I see some Ravenclaws near me snigger at my less than successful attempt, but they soon stop when they see the face that Rose is making at them. Rose is quite popular among the Ravenclaws. It must be the fact that she is so talented, but very modest. Unlike her brother who is very cocky.
"Ignore them. The flaw of of some Ravemclaw is their arrogance." Says Rose
"You don't seem arrogant"
"Yes, well wouldn't it be a boring world if we were all the same?"
"Good point" I nod.
After Transfiguration I have to sit through potion class with Kat giving me her usual evil glares and Ren giving me an apologetic, pleading look. He saved me a seat which I did not take. Instead I sat next to Gryffindor named Molly. A quite girl. I'm suprised she's a Gryffindor. Although I suppose bravery doesn't mean cockiness, or loudness. It's hard, but I am trying my best not be stereotypical. After all, I'm friends with a Ravenclaws that is not arrogant, a Hufflepuff that is not a pushover and I'm dating a Slytherin that is not mean. Ren on the other hand completely lives up to the Gryffindor stereotypes, cocky and hotheaded, but everyone has flaws weather they are expected of them or not. When I am finally free from class and it is lunch time I grab all my things and quickly walk out of the classroom before Ren can follow me. I head outside and shiver a little at the cool breeze. The sun shines down on the school grounds, making everything look bright and beautiful. Knowing that Ren and Justin would go down to the lake, I head in the direction of Hagrid's hut. I have care for magical creatures later today, which is good because it is my favourite subject. Instead of knocking on his door I go around the back.
"Hello there, Roughclaw, Ruffledwing" I greet the two hippogriffs. I laugh as Ruffledwing clumsily gets up. The baby hippogriff has grown so much since the last time I saw him. Roughclaw takes a couple excited steps towards me, but then remembers that he is a proud hippogriff and he walks majestically towards me. He stands proud and tall in front of me. I bow down and almost immediately after, so does Roughclaw. I walk forward and pat him on the neck. I don't take my hand off him so he knows where I am, even in his blind spot. I push myself up and wait for the hippogriff's reaction. He stands still which I take as permission. I swing my leg over and land awkwardly on his back. I straighten myself up and clutch the feathers around Roughclaw's neck. He takes off quickly into the air. I gasp for air at the shock of being airborne. I feel guilty for a moment, since I shouldn't be doing this, but that feeling is quickly suppressed when I see the gorgeous view and feel the wind blowing in my face. Roughclaw makes a few playful, sharp, turns but not enough to through me off. He soars over the school grounds and I can just about see the long golden hair of Teresita. She's at the edge of the lake with who assume is Rose. As Roughclaw begins to fly over forest I try to get him to turn around, but that's when I see it. A furry beast that's not quite animal, but not quite human either. It seemed to snacking on a small, black, furry animal. Probably a niffler. I recognise the beast from a page in my torn and tattered text book. I get Roughclaw's attention and get him to go back to Hagrid's hut. I knock on Hagrid's hut door with urgency.
"Calandra? Wha are you doin 'ere? Question bout the homewo...."
"Sir." I interrupted him "The beast is a werewolf"
