The wind began to pick up once again and I clutched my arms tightly trying to cling on to the little bit of heat I still still possessed.

"Dad?" I said again for probably the hundredth time.

"Not now," he replied as he checked the last two bodies.

He had me stand some distance away so I wouldn't be neglected to actually stare at the dead bodies the sea decided to wash up, though as much help that did, as I still could make out the lumps sticking out of the sand.

Besides standing here for what seemed like hours didn't seem to help, especially when the sea decided to wash up another body.

This one was the captain.

I must have screamed my head off when his slimy hand touched my ankle.

My voice was still hoarse.

Dad dug around some more checking each pocket thoroughly.

When he finally returned to me he had a pocket knife, a lighter, and a cell phone.

Though with the body being soaked I doubt the good it was going to do for us.

"I can only pray that the lighter works." Dad said staring up at the clouds.

I agreed I had lost all sense of time and the dark sky didn't help any.

"It looks as if another storm might come." I said.

Dad shook his head in agreement,"Yeah and I don't think I want to be here when it comes." he said handing me his jacket which I quickly put on.

Even though it was two sizes to big and still damp and smelt like musk and sea I basked myself in the warmth and followed him into the forest.

"The emergency radar should have went off when we crashed." Dad said as he stepped over fallen tree branches and held back large leaves so I could duck through.

"So help should be coming?"

I couldn't help but sound hopeful and when dad turned around to look at me the expression on his face sort of crushed me inside.

"Ailyn darling, there's something's you should know. Something I should have told you a long time ago." dad said with that sullen expression.

"Like what?" I asked completely confused.

"Like help isn't coming."
