---POPI'S POV---

I flew across towards the North tower. On the way there, I noticed the Extalia army chase after Carla, Happy and Lucy but I couldn't go back. Besides, I knew they'd be alright. There was someone who I know that isn't alright; (Y/N).

I hid behind pillars to avoid the soldiers, they were poor at their jobs, it wasn't much of a challenge to sneak past them. I finally managed to breach the tower, and get inside. The place was dark and the air was stale, not a ray of sunlight shone through. I hoped my studies of the castle would've help me track my way around but every corner and every turn seemed identical. Empty cellars lined the way, the echoing sound of footsteps was heard in my ears around the bend.

I reached a T-section at the tower, there was only one in the North and I found it. I mentally cheered, having an idea of where (Y/N) will be locked away. She was a wizard with a substantial amount of magic power pulsing through her veins, she had to be further down. The paranoia struck me as I ran towards the staircase, I picked up the sound of running footsteps behind me. The guards must all be down there heavily guarding her confinements.

I look around panicked, there was nowhere to hide. If I ran further down those stairs I could be facing even more of them than the one's approaching, but if I ran the other way I'd be running away from (Y/N) and I wasn't going to let that happen. Not again.

I had to fight, I had to fight off the soldiers. A small Exceed like me participating in battle. I didn't have a single thing except my claws and Aero magic. I must make do with what I've got.

I hear the clank of metal, as the footsteps get closer, I heard four feet-two soldiers. Two against one. Exceed against human. Perhaps I could defeat them with my intellect, it worked for Carla until Pantherlily intruded.

"This is the North, right?" a male voice echoed sounding familiar? Too familiar.

"From what the Edolas Gajeel said, yes. Rumours spread that one of us has been held captive here in the North," a strong feminine voice trailed through the halls.

I stood there in confusion as the two people finally arrived at the intersection. My fists released their clenched motion seeing the two figures stand in front of me; grown up.

"Gray? Erza?" I babble trembling from surprise and shock. The two stood side by side looking down at me with shocked faces. Erza's eyes were wide and Gray's jaw hung agape, "Holy crap," he muttered aloud.

"Popi?" Erza questioned in surprise. "You're alive?"

Erza was like another mother to me, an aunt you could say. She bought me cute little clothes, fixed my torn ones and gave me apple pies to eat with her strawberry cake.

I nod sheepishly looking at the two wizards, "It's been awhile."

(Y/N) strikes my mind, snapping me from my thoughts.

"Look there's no time to explain but it's heavily guarded down these staircases because (Y/N) is down there. I'll explain our story on the way but I'm going to need your strength to help me out and free her."

---(Y/N)'S POV---

The cold stale air entered my lungs, I cough heavily feeling my muscles ache. In defeat, I lay my head on the floor, feeling the tears well from my eyes. Uncontrolled and with no emotion, the tears roll down the side of my cheeks. I lay there uncomfortably for some time. The loud ruckus of banging and the running of soldiers echoed throughout the halls.
