Saturday. The best day of the week. Everything good happens on this day, sometimes bad. Most of the time it's good. Today it is both.
I will meet up with Kyle and sort things out. I also have to meet Justin, I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE to say I will meet him. Now, I can't reject him.
The weather is sad just like me. The clouds are dark, heavy with water. It's like the clouds are going to bleed water any moment. But it never rains.
I wear cropped jeans, cut shoulder orange shirt and make my hair in a ponytail. I text him:
Willow Where am I going to meet you?
Kyle Wait for three seconds
Willow Okay.
Willow Waiting.
Willow Three seconds are over.I heard the doorbell. He didn't. I run downstairs and see Tiago welcoming in. He did. "Hey," I smiled.
"Hi, are you coming?" He asked.
"I-uh" I stutter and look at Tiago.
"Yes, she is." Tiago says. He has his fake sweet mask on. "Aren't you, Willow?"
"Um, yeah." I walk past Tiago. I still can't believe he allowed me.
"See you again, sir," Kyle shook Tiago's hand and walked out of the house with me.
"When will you come home?" Tiago asks, smiling as widely as ever.
"Before seven," I said quickly, before Kyle could say.
"Okay, have a great evening." Tiago shuts the door.
"Your father is so sweet." Kyle said as we walked.
You should see his real face, not even close to 'sweet'. "Great, dad." I said. "Where are we going?"
"I wanted to go to the beach, but the weather is going to be bad." He looks above at the clouds which are going to lighten the burden on them at any second. "We are going to have coffee."
"It never rains here. Like ever."
"But it could. I mean we do experience a bit of rain don't we?"
"Don't expect that it will rain so heavily and you will lay in bed with pneumonia with your mother taking care of you." I laughed sarcastically.
"There could be a possibility, anything could happen." Silence followed.
After a few minutes of walking in silence he said, "Here we are."
We walked in the cafe. Kyle ordered Cappuccino for both of us. "Tell me why didn't you answer my letters and emails?"
I clasped my hands together, on the table and took a deep breath. "I didn't wanted you to ruin my life."
"How was I ruining your life?" He seemed shocked.
"Let's start from the beginning, after the Halloween party you changed within a blink of an eye."
"That's why?"
"No. You like changed in a way I didn't want you to," he was confused. "I mean, it's good you changed but then you became the school's bad boy. You became the bully of those people who bullied you. That's what I didn't wanted." The waiter served us Cappuccino.
"How could that ruin your life?" I took a sip.
"Not that ruined my life."
"Then?" I didn't found the strength to say it. "You are making this really complicated," he takes my hand in his. "Just say it. Find the courage to say it." His touch is rough not soft and warm.
"After the party, I realized that I had fallen for you." A tear dropped.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I wanted to tell you about it, but I was unsure of myself." Tears trailed one by one as I breathed heavily. "I became sure when you kissed me." I whispered, "I thought that we were together but-"
"Then?"
"I saw you and Agnes hanging out, kissing and you even asked her to pro-"
"But then I broke up with her. She was a friend who was for a chapter in my life." He cuts me.
"I stopped contacting you as I wanted to delete you from my life. You even saw me being beat by some boys and you didn't help me" I ended it.
"I don't want to say anything." His hand still held mine as silence entered. "Did you read those letters which were tied in a bunch?" I didn't say anything. "I know you haven't, you must've burned them." He released my hand and walked away.
I sensed that he was disappointed, saddened, he wanted to say something, but he didn't had the courage to say it. I still have those letters. I haven't read them.
I crush the thoughts and run home. I still have to meet Justin.
