Chapter 4: Explaining

Back in the Phoenix, Higgabottom wrapped a bandage around Tazer's arm. Zinti was looking at Twitch who kept changing colors. Zinti stared at him wide eye and surprised but also excited.

Max and Leena were sitting down, looing at the fox prince as the professor finished tending his injury. "Your injury is not bad so you should heal just fine" Higga told him. "Sorry about earlier" Max apologized, rubbing the back of his mane. Tazer sighed and rubbed his sore arm "I'm sorry too. I was only trying to take your ship to save our kingdom" Tazer explained and Leena glared at him. "Um there are other ways to get a ship without stealing or attacking" Leena added annoyed and the fox looked down sheepish.

But Max noticed something that caught his attention. "Wait you said save your kingdom. From what?" Max asked him. "From this mysterious sorceress and that evil Shadow Master" Zinti told them and everyone got wide eye. "Shadow Master?!" Everyone said surprised.

"You know him?" Tazer asked surprised. Max looked back at him "Yes. We're trying to stop him. What did he do?" Max explained and asked the fox. Tazer stayed quiet and looked down. Zinti looked at her big brother, worried.

"I know we started off bad. But we wanna help you" Max told him, trying to convince him. Zinti walked over and sat next to her brother. She placed her hand on his, trying to convince him to talk. Tazer sighed and looked at everyone

"My name is Tazer and this is my little sister, Zinti. Our parents are King Arctique and Queen Iduna. Rulers of the Arctic Fox Kingdom.

Flashback

Back at the royal castle, the royal fox family were inside the throne. Zinti was sitting on the steps watching her mom, Queen Iduna, practice some ice magic. Zinti giggled and clapped her little hands excited. Her mom chuckled at her excitement. "Pay attention Zinti" her mom told her as she twisted the snow magic and made it form into a snowball. Zinti awed at her magic.

"One day you will learn the magic of the ice crystal" she told her as she handed the little fox the snowball. "Oooh" Zinti said amazed and her mom ran her hand through her daughter's head down to her big ears with a smile.

"Ha!" The vixen and the pup's ears twitched at Tazer's voice and turned over to their direction. Tazer was practicing sword fight with with his father. The fox king had the same pure white fur like his son but aqua green eyes like his daughter.

The teen fox clashed his sword with his father but Arctique smirked and pushed Tazer's sword up. It caught Tazer by surprise and the sudden push made him step back. Arctique took the chance and swiped his sword under the young fox's feet and made him fall to the ground. Tazer lifted his head and found Arctique pointing his sword at him with a smirk.

"Always try to find an advantage on your opponent. By creating a weak spot" his father advised him as he put his sword back in its sheath and lend an arm to his son. Tazer grabbed his hand and his dad pulled him up. Arctique picked up Tazer's sword and handed it to him.

"Right. I'll remember that advice" Tazer added sheepishly. Zinti and Iduna chuckled at the two boys.

Bam! The foxes heard a bang from the door. BAM! The door flew opened and the guards flown to the ground. "The guards! Iduna said alarmed and Arctique took out his sword once more. Something had attacked the guards.

Then came a mysterious hooded figure, his red eyes showing in the darkness of his hood...Shadow Master. Tazer stared at him, a little afraid. Zinti hid behind her mom, her ears down scared.

"Ah the royal Arctic Fox Family. Such an honor to meet you all" Shadow Master told them as he summoned a dark magic spell and threw it at them.

POW! An icy blast hit the dark magic. Iduna had used an ice spell to save her family.

"Iduna! Take Zinti and Tazer and get out of here!" Arctique yelled out and Iduna nodded, the vixen grabbing her pup and running off.

Arctique turned to this new opponent and held his sword out. "Tazer go with your mother and sister" he ordered his son. "And leave you? No way!" Tazer said and ran straight to Shadow Master. "Tazer!" His father called out to him alarmed.

Tazer leaped up and tried to slash his sword at Shadow Master. The evil villian let out an evil chuckle and let out a dark magic blast on the young fox. Tazer was sent flying to the icy ground. A clash was heard and he lifted his head and saw his sword shattered in pieces.

Shadow Master chuckled evilly "Perhaps you would be better off frozen my dear prince" Shadow Master taunted and threw another dark magic blast at him and Tazer watched wide eye, his ears down in fear.

But at the last minute, Arctique leaped in front of his son to protect him, his sword out. BLAM! The magic hit the fox king and turned him into ice. The magic blast was so strong, it knocked his sword out of his hand and landed near Tazer.

"Father!" Tazer yelled out alarmed and horrified. Shadow Master chuckled evilly. Tazer quickly grabbed his father's sword and ran off to his family with the evil Shadow Master following him.

Meanwhile, Iduna brought Zinti to a secret passage way. Iduna's ears twitched at approaching footsteps and she turned around, her hands out with glowing ice magic, ready to be used to protect her daughter.

Tazer came out running to her. "Tazer?" She said surprised and the ice magic faded from her hands. "We gotta go mom. Dad's been frozen. It's all my fault" Tazer said out of breath and in guilt.

Suddenly, the three foxes felt a chill in the air and they saw a shadow coming from the corner. Iduna then made a decision.

The fox queen took of her ice crystal necklace and gave it to Zinti, the pup puzzled. "Tazer protect your sister. And save our kingdom" she told her son as she cupped his face, her son looked at her wide eye, confused but scared.

Iduna kissed his forehead and then evil laughter echoed in the room and Master Shadow appeared, laughing evilly and shot out a dark wave of magic.

"GO!" Iduna yelled out and shoved Tazer into the passageway and shut the door. "Mommy!" Zinti and "Mom!" Tazer yelled out in alarmed.
