Max's Adventures: The Arctic Fox Siblings

Chapter 9: An Icy Battle

The fox siblings were in shock. So was Max and Leena. Suddenly, an evil laugh echoed, one that the lions recognized and teleporting next to the queen was Shadow Master.

"Shadow Master" Max said glaring at him. "What did you do to our mom?!" Tazer demanded angry. Shadow chuckled at him "It was all merely part of my plan young prince. I knew that Max was passing by the Arctic Fox Kingdom. So I had to find a way to delay him and get the crystal from him. He can't resist trying to help and protect" Shadow Master explained as he looked at Max.

Although he had no face, Max can feel a smirk forming on the dark wizard "Just like his father" he taunted and Max growled at him, clenching his fist.

"Once I encountered the fox queen, I put dark magic in her and now became my puppet. I know that there's no way you would want to harm. To free the kingdom and the rulers, you have to defeat the queen. Ha ha ha!" Shadow Master explained and laughed evilly as he teleported.

"You wicked sorcerer!" Tazer yelled out furious but then the possessed queen summoned dark ice spike magic on her hand and threw it at them. The friends ducked as the spikes hit the door.

"Aah!" Twitch and Spike yelled alarmed and Kara backed up quickly when the ice spikes went through the door. "By thunder!" Kara said alarmed. "Something's happening in there!" The professor said worried for the others.

"Max we have to find a way to defeat my mom without hurting her" Tazer told him as the queen unleashed a dark icy blizzard, sending the friends flying back. Everyone could feel the cold chill stung them like they were in a snow storm.

Tazer noticed his sword, still pierced on the wall from his fight with Leena. Tazer grabbed the sword and with a grunt, he pulled it out of the wall. "Zinti" Tazer called out and he motioned his eyes to her ice crystal and she nodded in understanding. It was time for the fox siblings to fight back.

The queen unleashed more dark icicles at them. Zinti got in front of the lions and with a deep breath, focus and determination to save her new friends, the fox pup summoned an huge shield to protect her friends.

The icicles shattered when they hit the shield and Tazer's sword slashed through it, the icicles breaking into tiny ice shards.

The sorceress growled at them angry. Leena noticed an icicle still intact, lying on the floor. "Leena!" Max said alarmed and fail to grab Leena when she leapt out from the shield and grabbed the icicle and ran with it.

"Tazer run to the opposite side! We have to corner her!" Leena called out "You got it!" Tazer said nodding and he ran too.

Max heard something scraping the ground and he noticed Zinti was walking, pushing the ice shield straight to the queen but it was reallu heavy, the small fox pup struggling to move it. Max got up and helped her push it, the shield moving a little quicker.

Meanwhile, Twitch, Spike and Higga were struggling to open the door, all three pushing at it hard. "Let's go!" Kara yelled out determined and he charged at the door.

"Hoo hoo! Watch out!" Higgabottom yelled out in warning as he and Twitch and Spike moved out of the way and BAM!

The elephant bursted through the door and he immediately notice the battle happening. He spotted Max and Zinti struggling to push the ice shield.

"Hang on you two!" Kara called out as he ran over to help, his elephant strength making the shield move quicker. Twitch, Higga and Spike joined in to help too.

Meanwhile, the queen threw ice spikes from both sides at Tazer and Leena. Leena leaped up, slicing through some of the icicles and ran up the wall, the ice spikes trailing behind her.

Tazer kept slicing through the ice spikes while running. The queen clenched her teeth in concetration as she intensified the icicles, making them go quicker.

"Mommy!" Zinti yelled out and the queen turned to her direction and her eyes widen. The queen had was cornered from both sides by Tazer and Leena while the middle was blocked by Zinti's ice shield.

Iduna was surprised and her hand quickly illimunated dark ice magic but from the corner of her eye, Leena leapt off the wall and threw the icicle at her.

The queen threw an icicle and it pinned Leena to the wall, the ice pierced through her sleeve but no harm.

But the icicle Leena threw pierced through Iduna's right sleeve and pinned to the ground. "Sorry mom" Tazer apologized as he pierced his sword through her left sleeve and he knocked her feet so she was on her knees.

Max looked at where Leena was "Leena!" He called out worried but Leena smirked at him and waved her hand at him. Max and Kara ran over to help her.

"Mom?" Zinti said worried as her brother caressed their mom's face "She's cold" he said worried, looking at his sister.

The fox pup was worried and held her mom's hand, rubbing it "This will warm you up mom" Zinti said.

Max and Kara helped Leena get down but the lion felt the lion crystal glowing and he took it out, his eyes scanning for danger...only there was no danger.

Max was puzzled until he held the crystal at the foxes' direction. His eyes widen in realization. The crystal wasn't sensing danger. It was sensing emotions.

Max approached the siblings and they looked at him. "I think I know how to save your parents and the kingdom. And you two are gonna help me" he told them with a smile as he looked at Zinti's ice crystal.
