Max's Adventures: The Arctic Fox Siblings

Chapter 6: Distractions and Crystals

Back in the Arctic Fox Kingdom, Max and their friends are sneaking to the castle with the fox siblings leading them.

Tazer peeked behind a wall, Zinti latched on his back. The fox prince looked at the castle, his eyes on the huge open gap on the wall that he and Zinti escaped through earlier.

'All we gotta do is climb up' Tazer thought and he was about to come out of his hiding spot but Zinti spotted something from the corner and pulled her brother back from his ear. "Wait!" She whispered to him and pointed at the corner.

Tazer looked and saw some fox guards nearby. Now it made sense why the fox princess stopped him. If he ran over, the guards would spot him.

He rubbed his little sister's head as a way of thanks and he turned to their new friends. "We need to lure those guards away so they don't spot us" Tazer told them as Max took a peek of the situation.

Max hummed and his ears twitched at some giggles. He looked at his two best friends who were throwing snowballs at eachother. Spike then looked at the snowball in his hand curiously and was going to put it in his mouth, much to Twitch's shock.

"Spike no! Remember about yellow snow!" Twitch told him frantically and it sparked an idea in Max's head. "I think I found our distraction" Max said smiling and looking at his two friends. The others followed his direction.

"Hey guards!" Twitch's voice called out and the guards turned their heads over to Twitch and Spike, the duo out in the open.

"What's up with the purple fur? Did you eat something bad and change color?" Twitched taunted them and the guards growled at them. The guards' fur color was purple from the sorceress's dark magic.

"Hey Twitch, show them what they look like" Spike told him and Twitch changed to purple and made a wacky dance to taunt the guards more.

"Get them!" One of the guards said ticked off and charged at them. Twitch and Spike screamed and ran for it. The guards ran past the wall where Max and his friends were hiding.

Twitch turned invisible and quickly hid with the others but Spike wasn't out of the danger yet. Spike yelled in panic and Max saw the danger.

Tazer noticed something blue light glowing in Max's vest pocket, his ears perked in curiousty. "Kara! Go help Spike and meet up with us" Max told and the elephant nodded as he went after the hedgehog.

The others rushed over to the ice wall. Leena had a brought a grappling hook to climb up but before she could swing it up, Max stopped her.

"Wait!" He told her and pulled out something from his pocket with a blue glow that Tazer saw earlier. It was the Lion Crystal of Sense.

Tazer's eyes widen in curiosity at the blue rock as Max held it up, his eyes on that gap. Tazer and Zinti watched him as the crystal glowed. Max lowered the crystal and his eyes went back to his friends.

"Ok inside's all clear. Let's go" Max told them and Leena threw the rope up. "You have an ice crystal too?" Zinti asked Max curious. Max chuckled at the pup and rubbed her head. "No Zinti. This crystal helps me sense when danger's near" Max explained to her as Twitch and Leena climbed up.

Meanwhile, Spike got cornered by the guards at a wall, the guards pointed their spears at him. Back to Max, his crystal glowed again and the lion could sense his spiky friend in trouble. Max looked at the direction where his friend ran off and he ran after them.

Tazer watched with interest and wonder. "Hey freeze fox! Come on!" Leena called out from above and Tazer climbed up with Zinti on his back.

Spike braced himself for what to expect but then Kara grabbed one of the guards with his trunk and threw him at a wall, knocking the guard out.

Kara turned around just in time when the other guard struck his spear at him. Luckily, the elephant caught it with his trunk, struggling to keep the pointy tip away.

Max then came and jumped on the guard's back. The lion pushed himself off the guard and the guard lost his balance, giving the Kars the chance to let go of the spear and back up.

Max knocked the guard off his feet with his foot and Kara swung his trunk at the guard, sending him flying to the wall, knocked out too. Max and Kara highed fived in victory.

Max and Kara ran back to the castle and climbed up the wall, joining the others. "Alright let's go save this kingdom" Max said confident.

But Tazer had his eyes on the crystal the whole time. He watched it as Max putted it away in his pocket and walked away. "If that crystal can sense danger, it might come in handy to help me. I have to get it" Tazer mumbled to himself and walked with the others...with the Lion Crystal on his mind.
