Sigh. I would really appreciate it if you didn't read this chapter. I don't like the constant...bombardment of her 'distraction', and this is what that chapter is. So, if you are going to read it anyway, please don't judge me. I'm weak; there I admitted it.
I was contemplating what to do next in the back.
I had to work, that was for sure. But I would have to go out and clean up the crumbs left by others. That meant I would have to go out right after I clocked in.
I guess I would have to be stealthy. I could avoid being seen by her. But, I would have to be really careful with the amount of noise I made. I didn't want her having knowledge of my presence.
I clocked in and found out that Jomp was not working today. Everyone else was here, just not him.
I was relieved because Jomp would NEVER let me hear enough of this. He would urge me on to talk to her, but I knew he was just trying to get me to humiliate myself. And after last time, Ii would not want to do it again.
I slowly and carefully walked out of the back and made sure she didn't see me. She was at her corner table again, so I had access to most parts of the room.
I went around and carefully and quietly cleaned up crumbs or any kind of mess left by other pokemon.
I was about to go back to the back when I saw that a table next to her had a mess on it.
I was conflicted! I had to do my job, but it was definitely in her line of sight. If I went over there, she would most likely see me no matter how hard I tried to be stealthy.
If I didn't clean that up, I would be neglecting my job, and would most likely get flamed by Shen or Kliss.
So I did what any brave soldier would do.
I walked out to the table and went to go clean the mess up.
I walked faking confidence, and I was not seen by her yet. I got to the table and put my two front paws onto the table and began wiping it down.
That's when she saw me.
I saw her turn her head and look at me. Her eyes widened ever so slightly, indicating she was glad to see me? That wasn't right.
She kept looking at me for a couple seconds and I started looking at her. She immediately blushed and looked away.
I went back to my cleaning. I was fine until she came over.
"Hi." She said. I stopped and looked to where she was standing now. She had gotten down and was now standing approximately five feet away from me. Not close enough to matter, but close enough that I could smell her perfume. It smelled like roses and fresh strawberry pie.
Not that I was dwelling on that.
"I saw you on Friday," She informed me. "My name's Aurora."
That was a very nice name, I thought. It was not perfect, but it was really pretty. Well suited...
Gah! She did it again! She had trapped me in her vortex of fainting romantic intimacy! I would not fall for it so easily this time. She only caught me off guard last time.
"Uh, hello." I responded. I figured it was only good manners to tell them your name after they told you theirs. "My name is Tendo."
"I know." She said back. "Your zoroark friend told me. He was really friendly."
Dang it Jomp! She now knew everything! Did you tell her where I live too? Or just everything else? Ugh, he really got on my nerves.
"Oh ok." I said. "I must continue working now."'
"Ok." She said, a little disappointed it seemed. "I am sorry to distract you."
I went back to cleaning. She sat back down at her table but she still stared at me. She had a little look of slight sadness in her eyes. She was really good at pretending to care about me.
I finished with the table and walked toward the back.
After a little while she left. I wasn't informed when she departed, but I Suspected as much. She gave up after I had beaten her. I was not about to let myself be caught in a little fake-love trap!
I walked to her table to clean, when I saw something on it. She had left behind a piece of paper.
I opened it.
It said this: 'Bye Tendo! See you soon!' Then it showed an emoji with a winky face. I hoped that she didn't mean to come back here. Cause if she did...
I would really be in trouble if she continued this game.
