I was not thrilled to see Aurora.
I had no idea she even was going to be walking the same day and time as me! How much luck would even be needed for that?
Then I looked at Constan. He was grinning as he watched Aurora, the vaporeon, and the umbreon.
I knew then what had happened.
Aurora looked my direction. "There you are Tendo!" She jogged over to me. That confirmed my suspicions. Constan was behind this. I looked over at him, and he just smiled and shrugged at me.
What a faker!
"Tendo, who is this?" My mom asked me. She finally found out. Dang it Constan! You are really annoying!
Aurora stopped and looked at me. I knew she was thinking that she had just made a mistake. She wasn't supposed to let my mom know yet.
"This is Aurora." I answered. "We..."
"Are dating!" Constan finished. "They started dating officially yesterday."
My mom looked at me with a slight look of frustration. "Tendo, why didn't you tell me yesterday?"
Now everyone's eyes were on me. I had no idea how to answer that question. I was no good when I was the center of attention.
Aurora came over here. "Don't blame him! I was the one who asked him yesterday! I told him to not let you know, because I wasn't sure if you would separate us or not."
I was surprised. She was willing to take the fall for me. No one had ever done that before.
My mom's expression softened. "Well, you should've told me sooner. It's not right to keep a secret like that from me."
Aurora looked down in shame. "I am sorry."
I was speechless. I couldn't believe it. My mom looked at the umbreon and vaporeon.
"Are you her parents?" She asked them.
"I am her father," The umbreon answered. "This is Aurora's grandmother, Susan."
The vaporeon grinned. "Nice to meet you." She said in a shaky, raspy voice.
My mom looked at me again. "Tendo, you should've told me about Aurora sooner. I wouldn't have necessarily separated you two. I would have just liked to know."
The umbreon spoke up, "I apologize. My daughter told me already, but I never thought that you didn't know."
"It's ok." My mom said to him.
"Isn't love beautiful." Aurora's grandmother, Susan said. "It truly is wonderful."
I couldn't help but blush at that comment. I looked at Aurora. She was looking at her father hopefully. I knew she didn't want this 'relationship' to end. I guess I had to help as well.
"Aurora is nice," I said, loud enough for my mom to hear. "She is very kind-hearted, but also fun and exciting. Please don't put the blame on her."
Aurora looked at me when I said that. She was blushing at my compliments, but she also looked very thankful for them.
My mom looked between me, and Aurora. She sighed. "I suppose you can stay together, if that's ok with you?"
The umbreon nodded. "I have no problem with it."
"But," My mom continued. "You will tell us where you go, so we know where you are at all times. Is that clear?"
I nodded.
"Very clear!" Aurora said. "Thank you so much! I really didn't want to leave him. He is so smart, and helpful. I think I made a good choice with him." I knew that last part was directed toward me personally. My face turned red. I reasoned there was too much red in my life since she entered.
But, it looked like our 'relationship' was not in jeopardy.
We would stay together, for better or for worse.
