"That was 13 years ago."
"And? Those Americans are so proud, they think they're invincible. We must take from him, then take from their country."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive!"
He holds a picture of a man. "We will find him soon. Send the men. We leave tonight."
Zeus' Pov
In his dream ...
My birthday cake comes out. I'm surrounded by family. The twins. Dad. Adonis. Naomi. Grandma. Cavalier. Xavier. Mom's friends. Jayla. The twins' friends.
I have on a birthday hat. This is beyond corny. I read my cake.
"Happy 18th Zeus!"
I look around the room and see balloons. I groan. I'm eighteen now, but they treat me like I'm eight.
"Make a wish!" Adonis says.
She's always tried to make sure I liked her. We used to have a connection, but she sensed that I had no feelings towards her after my little brother and sister came. I'm indifferent to her, though.
I roll my eyes. Ready to leave. I'm a senior. I'm eighteen now. I don't need this. I should be at the booty club or something.
I blow out all the candles and taste the icing. It's sweet at first, then it's like sour milk. I cut the cake and everyone drops to the ground. The cake is blood red on the inside and our school mascot is miniature, running out of the cake. I don't know why but I eat it.
Then everything goes black.
"Zeus Alexander!" My dad yells.
I'm dragged away and screaming nonstop.
Where am I?
"Zeusy!" The twins scream.
"Z!" My friends yell.
"Zeus!" Adonis and Naomi scream.
"Zeus..." Jayla whispers softly. I don't hear them anymore.
Before I know it, I taste blood. I'm finally away from them.
Is this really what I wanted?
