I try to pull what's left of my dignity together as I try to help Bambi finish the final touches of the wedding together. I can hardly look her in the eye - how could I? I proposed to her and got shut down. At least no one saw it but Adam ... I still feel embarrassed to my core though.

This is the second time in a few months that I've got my heart broken. I'm so tempted to give up on trying. I'm probably going to die soon anyway ... so I should probably try to do better for the time being. As I sweep up the building to be used for the second part of the ceremony, Adam walks in.

I nearly drop my broom. We haven't spoken to each other in days and I need to vent to someone. I also need answers. He glares in my direction , proceeding to talk to Bambi. I don't like the tension between us , but I'll just keep my distance for now. I grab my broom and move further in my corner. C and X wouldn't treat me like this. I miss them so much, they would probably understand me the best out of anyone else right now.

I hear their hushed tones that begin to turn into white noise until they have a full on argument. I almost drop my broom again when Adam raises his voice. I almost crapped myself when Bambi delivered the attitude right back.

"Just make it happen!" Adam yells at her.

"I'm not a magician! I need more time!"

"You work for us! Make it happen! Do it!"

"And if I don't?"

"Screw you, Bam."

I drop my broom entirely to make it across the room. Adam is in Bambi's face , threatening to fight. "Hey! Hey!" I huff a little. I step between them. "What's going on?"

They glare at each other. Adam pulls away from me, then storms out. I turn to Bambi. She glares in his direction, turning back to her work. "Bam?"

She ignores me for a few minutes. I clear my throat. I'm not tolerating this disrespect any longer. "What happened?"

"The wedding."

"What about it?"

"It's being pushed up."

"Okay ... Cool. What's the problem?"

"Zeus ... The wedding occurs today."

I let out a low whistle. "Well ... uh. Hm.. We're not too far from being done, right? We can handle it?" I try being optimistic

"Zeus, it's going to take forever to finish. But .. You don't understand."

"What don't I understand?"

"Your ransom ... it's supposed to be up as soon as the wedding was over."

"What?!"

"I'm so sorry ... I -"

"Nobody was going to tell me this?"

"I'm sorry -"

"When was anybody gonna tell me this? When I asked about .... You know what? I'm out. Finish by yourself." I walk out of the building before she could explain.

"Zeus..."

I push open the doors. It's seven thirty. I got over eighteen hours left to live and not a clue if my dad knows ... or will be able to deliver. I got to get my mind right. I know exactly where to get answers from.
