Ares' Pov

The moment Zeus went off, I was pissed. Maybe what he was saying is right. Maybe he's being self centered because he's trying to get himself centered. I do more with the twins, I'll admit. It's not like I don't try though. He pushes me away.

I followed him after his melodramatic exit. "Zeus?"

I see three men in black with face masks. They have Zeus bonded and blindfolded. One guy drags his thumb across his throat at me. I leap at him, we exchange hits then I get hit in the head with a skillet by the others.

When I come to, the house is ransacked. There's blood everywhere but I'm sure they took Zeus alive. I was frantic. I ran to check on my family.

Adonis is cleaning up outside, seeming a little upset. Aj and Amber are sitting.

"Did you guys see Zeus?"

"No, I thought you guys were talking it out," Adonis says.

I check my phone. I was out about 30 minutes. "Nah. Some guys took him. We got to stop them."

They looked up in worry and Adonis grabbed the kids closer. "Zeus? Kidnapped?"

"He's gone." I check the kitchen again and look around. I see a note on the stove.

You've messed with the wrong guys. Since you've taken our father from us, we must take your son from you. You can either let him die or take his place. Your call. Catch us if you can.

I take a seat. What would I ever do to someone that could result in this? I didn't hurt anybody and I'm losing my first born. I don't have long to get answers one way or another.

I try to piece this together but I cant. I turn the note.

If you want answers, you'll get them soon. You got one week.

A week to see my son? A week to live? On one hand, I want to spend time with my family. On the other, I want to find out everything about this.

If I let him die, would he get what he wanted? If I die, what will happen? What if they kill us both? Who will protect Adonis?

I pace back and forth. It's time to face my demons again.
