Chapter 15: Asirde's Blood

Letting out a deep sigh, a young female at the age of 18 sat quietly next to her bedroom window as the fireplace on her wall illuminated the dark room. She stared out at the beautiful view of all of Asirde with a bored and blank expression, the crescent moon hanging high above in the sky. It was a magnificent sight, but after seeing it every day, she quickly got tired of it. All she ever saw from her window was the entire city with towering walls surrounding it from all around like a cage. She could see from the richest areas of Asirde down to the ones of complete poverty. She grew to hate this view, but she would always spend her nights staring down at it from the same spot by her window.

Her attention was diverted once a knock had erupted from outside her door. She looked over the direction of her door in silence before slightly groaning in annoyance. "You may enter." She spoke in a monotone voice, resting her head on the knuckle of her hand. She watched as two tall males entered the room, one was dressed completely in pitch black armor while the other was the complete opposite, wearing a pure white long coat that went down midway to his calves. "You two are finally back. Took you longer than usual..."

"Well, of course. You sent me all the way down to the poverty areas by Asirde's walls, I'm not able to flash right back to the castle once I'm done like this one over here." The white themed male replied back with a blunt tone, point his thumb at the shorter boy next to him. "It's going to take at least two hours to get here from where I was. But sorry to make you wait, Princess Amira."

Amira narrowed her eyes at the man's sarcasm as he sent her a taunting smirk. For speaking to someone of royal blood, he was incredibly casual. But at least he added Amira's title, that's all she cared about with him. "No, I understand, Cain. I shouldn't be picky with such things, since I sent you down there for my own ambitions. Thank you for your hard work. Now... Did you find her?"

"Aw, thank you for such sweet words, Your Highness~!" Cain smiled, dramatically resting his hand on his chest as if he was touched by her words. "Unfortunately, no. I didn't see anything, just the same old sight of labor camps and shriveling people begging on the filthy streets. You know, the usual."

Amira let out a small sigh of disappointment as she shifted a bit in her seat, "Hm, is that it?"

"Nope, not at all. Everything is exactly like how it always is... But I can never get bored of the expressions on those beggars when they see someone of high ranking like me prowling their streets. How their faces light up with hope and they lose all sense of pride, it's always so amusing... Oh! And a group of children tried to attack me too. Good thing I hate kids, haha! Just sliced them right in half. I didn't even need to take their blood, it would've tasted disgusting anyways. I let a few of them go, since I wanted to see them run away and cry. Ooo, maybe I should check back in with them next week to see how scarred they are..."

"That's lovely, Cain..." Amira grumbled, not having the slightest of interest in his story. She thought it was a bit unsettling how sadistic the man was, especially since he originated from one of the poorest areas of Asirde, but as long as he did his work she could care less. The only reason why she even saved him from those labor camps was his Saber Card. He was the holder of the Blood Zealot Saber Card, possibly the strongest of the Holy Saber Cards if used properly. With him under her control, Amira knew that she could achieve her goal. "Well, thank you again for your work today. You're free to go."

"Cool. I'm out, bye." Cain swerved on the heel on his foot and waved a lazy hand as a send-off. He patted the other male Holder on the shoulder before exiting the room and closing the door behind him.

"What about you?" Amira asked, shifting her gaze to the remaining boy. "I only sent you to the city, there must be a reason why it took you so long."
