A/N: IT'S YA GIRL FARON- Yeah, that's Faron's character design and she's probably the most easiest to draw. Everyone else has such complicated designs, I cri. Anyways.
Chapter 14: Black Crow
"Now, if you don't mind telling me..." Faron began nonchalantly as she rested her broadsword on her shoulders and shifted her weight onto her right leg. "Who do you work for? The Government or the Rebellion? Or perhaps you're a lone fighter?"
There was a long pause of silence and Faron let out a chuckle, readying her blade. "Not one for words, are you? Well, neither am I. I usually let my sword do all the talking."
Faron's smirk immediately disappeared and was replaced with a sharp gaze as she bolted forward towards the opposing Saber Holder. She slightly bent her knees and aimed her blade upwards from under the Holder's daggers with a strong strike. They stumbled back from the strong burst of force and Faron swiftly followed with another blow from above with a spin, but missed when they jumped back to safety. Her sword slammed into the concrete ground and completely shattered it.
The Holder shot out a fury of the same sword-shaped shadows as before, but Faron easily deflected them all with a flick of her blade. She rushed forwards and aimed another strike at her opponent, but their entire figure suddenly disappeared into thin air. Faron slightly paused in the middle of her footstep and swerved around, jumping back once she sensed the Holder reappear behind her. They sent out another wave of shadows at her and she reflected them once more, but one sword was able to nick her cheek. Faron's eyes fluttered a bit from pain, blood beginning to ooze out from the slash.
Her opponent was about to disappear once more, but Faron was quick to react. She threw her sword out to the side and a whip in the shape of a thorny rose vine began to form in her hand in its place. Before the Holder could move, she lashed out her whip and latched onto their leg, aggressively pulling them into arm's reach. Faron then grabbed them by the neck and violently smashed them into the ground below her, shattering the concrete even more. They let out a low grunt as the air was knocked out of their lungs, followed by a sharp hiss pain.
"Okay... So, you're either a dude or a chick with a hella low voice. Though, guessing from your flat chest and broad shoulders, you're probably a dude. But I mean, I'm not judging you or anything-" Faron was cut off as a beam of dark energy was shot at her and nearly blast her face off as she launched herself backward.
The Holder jumped far back in the opposite direction of Faron at the very end of the alleyway, clutching onto their injured side. They gave Faron a long stare before shadows began to envelop them, their figure slowly disappearing like before. Faron gritted her teeth and summoned her sword back, pulling it back and chucking at the Holder like a tomahawk. However, her blade only collided with the wall and bursted into a million fragments.
Faron lowered her hand and stood still for a few moments in complete silence. She pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes. The Saber Holder had retreated, they weren't going to come back. Faron clicked her tongue and walked over to the last place her opponent was. Surrounded by the shattered pieces of her blade was a dark pile of blood and a single black feather on top of it. She let out a sharp huff and jumped up to the rooftops where Sawyer ran off to, stepping on the feather and drowning it in the blood below it.

"Faron, you're safe! Thank god!" Sawyer called out to the said girl immediately once she came into sight and ran up to her. Regardless of Faron's orders to retreat, he had waited close by in hiding for her return to make sure she was fine. "Are you okay? You're not hurt, right? Wait, there's a cut on your cheek..."
"Yes, I'm completely fine." Faron chuckled back. "Don't worry about that cut, it'll be gone by morning. Other than that, I wasn't harmed in any other way."
"That's a relief to hear..." Sawyer breathed out, "I'm sorry... That I wasn't strong enough to fight back that Saber Holder or help you. I know that I had to escape safely with the data, but I felt as though I was a burden more than a help..."
Faron shook her head in an instant, "That's not true. Even if you weren't on this mission, that Saber Holder would've still gotten in our way. And if you weren't here, we might've lost that data. You saw how much trouble we got into today. If we didn't have an extra person, we someone might've gotten seriously hurt or even captured. You helped us, Sawyer. You really did, and none of this is your fault, so don't blame yourself."
"Ha, you always seem to know exactly what to say in these situations..." Sawyer smiled, laughing a bit. "Anyways, how did the fight go? Did you get anything out of them?"
Faron let out a deep sigh, "Unfortunately, no... They had their lips completely sealed under that damned mask and ran away when I finally chased them to a corner. However, I have a hunch on who they're working with. Based on their skilled fighting skills and silence, they're probably with the Government. Their actions were almost like a robot's, so that's a dead giveaway."
"So... What now?"
"I... I don't know." Faron confessed, causing Sawyer to look at her with surprise. Faron always had a trick up her sleeve somehow, but she was at a loss. "I should have killed them when I had the chance. I could've just ended it right then and there, but they slipped between my fingertips!" She growled, punching the wall beside her and completely destroyed it.
Sawyer flinched and threw his hands up, "D-Don't worry! They may have seen both of our faces, but I they can actually find us! And I'm sure we'll meet them again, so you can, uh... Kill them... Then next time you meet."
Faron narrowed her eyes and ran a hand through her raven hair. "I sure hope so..." She sighed out heavily.
"Uh... Are you saying that to the fact that they won't be able to find us or the fact that you'll have another chance to kill them?"
A sudden ring from Sawyer's and Faron's ear piece interrupted their conversation. "Oh, this must be Trinity and Kai..." Faron mumbled as she listened in.
"Oi, children."
Sawyer blinked a bit, "Wait... This is Lilith..."
"If any of you can hear me right now, I have a request."
"Oh my god, this better be serious..." Faron grumbled under her breath before actually responding. "What is it?"
"Can y'all get me some pizza or something?"
"...You've got to be kidding me, right?"
"No. Food is a serious matter."
"OH MY FUCKING GOD-"
"Um, just a question. Why didn't you just call for a delivery? Now's not the best time to ask Faron for something..." Sawyer cut in, fearing that Faron might destroy an entire building if she continued the conversation. "And why pizza? Can you make something at home? Like ramen or something?"
"They don't make deliveries after midnight and I'm too lazy to get up from my desk to go make something." She responded back in a black tone. Sawyer just stared off with squinted eyes as he let out a soft sigh. "Hey, I've provided all you college hobos my own house to stay at and meet up. I'm also staying up and working my ass off trying to help you on missions, so they least you can do is get me some damn pizza!"
"O...Okay. We'll go get the pizza. Just... Just stop yelling. I went through a lot today and I just want to sleep."
"Tch, ungrateful children."
"She... She hung up."
"Whatever. Let's just get that bitch her stupid pizza and go home." Faron snarled and stomped away to the nearest pizza restaurant.
~~~
An awkward silence filled the entire building as the young cashier stared at both Faron and Sawyer as they waited for their pizza.
"So, uh. Are you guys, like, cosplayers?"
Faron snapped her head towards the boy and sent him a cold glare. "Yeah, you could say that."
