Chat Noir was leaping across buildings as he followed the red bug-like kwami to Ladybug. He didn't even question it when he landed on the Dupain-Cheng roof.
In front of him was a sight he didn't expect, Marinette was thrown over the shoulder of the akumatized villain. Both stared at him, clearly surprised at his entrance.
Chat wasted no time in getting the young girl away from him, What in the world is going on?! He thought in confusion, Where was Ladybug?
Grabbing Marinette, he through her over his shoulder, and took off in another direction. Getting her to the streets, and away from the villain was a top priority. "Where's LB?" He demanded, once he'd set her down.
"Uh, s-she's not...here," Marinette stuttered, staring at him wide-eyed.
They only had a second, before a blast rocketed around them.
"Did you think you could get away that fast?" A voice hissed, followed by another boom.
"GO!!" Chat shouted, as he stood over Mari to protect her from a falling vehicle. His baton shot up and caught it, but he could only hold it for so long.
Marinette gasped as she struggled to move to safety as well. Glancing back to check on Chat Noir made her lose her footing, sending her face-first before the villain.
''Ah!" Crawling backwards, she dodged his attacks- desperately trying to get away. This day just got weirder! She thought in a panic.
"Get back here you little-" The villain was interrupted by Chat's stick hitting his face.
''Hope you're ready for a Chat-fight," he smirked, knocking him away with his baton. They went after each other, but it was clear the superhero couldn't hold him off for long.
''Tikki?" Marinette whisper-yelled, only to notice a red blob on Chat's shoulder. She gawked at the sight, He'd come to help her? With Tikki? But....how...
Her heart pounded in her ears, and everything seemed brighter as she stood frozen, watching Chat Noir getting pummeled by the villain. Why did she feel like when Volpina had Adrien? Did she care for Chat that much? She felt like she was going to explode...
When the villain raised his weapon at Chat, she finally came out of it-"CHAT!!" Thoughts flew through her head, as she thought of what she could do.
''Hey! I know where Ladybug is!!" She shouted, successfully gaining both males' attention.
"Why would you tell him that?!" Chat shouted at her, completely and utterly confused as of to what she was doing.
She gave him a look that said, trust me. He hesitated, before nodding his consent.
''Oh really?" The villain gave a sick smile,"That's lovely to hear little girl, Hawkmoth will be most pleased when I deliver her Miraculous!"
You'd have to take it from her first, she thought smugly.
"You have to make a deal with me first," Marinette bargained.
"What kind of deal?" He asked suspiciously eyeing her.
''A kind of truce..." She took a deep breath,"You have to agree to come with me where Ladybug is, but I can't take you if you make her suspicious... you wouldn't even be able to get close to her.'' She sighed dramatically.
Chat raised an eyebrow at her, still not sure if Ladybug was actually safe at the moment or not... But what choice did he have?
''Alright...'' The villain held out his hand to Marinette, who didn't even hesitate before shaking it, ''Deal."
''Now where is she, girl?" The villain demanded impatiently.
''Haven't you ever heard to 'be patient'?'' Marinette responded with a small grin. So far it had worked perfectly, except for the fact that she wouldn't able to get Tikki without explaining the truth to Chat. However, he was still there for the rest of it.
She just had to help, without being a superhero.
As Marinette, and not Ladybug.
Chat had secretly followed them, at a distance, to the pier. Now, he stood watch on top of a roof- waiting for a signal from Marinette. Tikki was still on his shoulder, and there was no way he was letting her out of his sight. Much to the kwami's amusement and annoyance.
"If she's not here, then you'll-'' The villain abruptly cut off and seemed to be having a discussion in his head. He got angrier,''She's not here!"
Just as he swung out at Marinette, a certain black cat jumped between them.
It was clear Chat Noir was losing the fight, as he was tossed around. When the villain hurtled heavier objects at him, Chat wasn't able to dodge in time.
I can't let this happen... Marinette felt tears stream down her face, before making her decision.
''TIKKI, SPOTS ON!!"

Sorry to end this in a cliff-hanger (not really), but don't worry the next chapter will be up soon. And there may be some Adrienette ;)
