- Flashback Continued -
The pain became too much and unconsciousness overtook his brain and Feliciano's world faded to black as he was pulled above the water and brought over to a stretcher...
... Feliciano's eyes fluttered open and he cringed as the blinding sunlight invaded his vision. He was lying on something soft and warm. Looking down at himself, he saw wires stuck to his chest that were connected to a heart monitor which beeped every five seconds reminding him that he was still alive and his plan didn't work.
He looked at his left arm which was in a white cast.
Then there was a gentle squeeze on his hand and a whisper of his name. He looked over to see his brother, Romano holding his hand, tears streaking his face.
"Feli?"
Feliciano gave a weak smile and watched his brother kiss his hand and cradle it to his chest. Suddenly, he heard a sob. He looked at the doorway where his mother had just entered with a cup of something.
She rushed over to him and knelt beside Romano. Mary reached up and stroked his hair, her hands shaky as she cried.
