Chapter 5

{Henley's POV}

I woke up the next morning, my skin still freezing cold thanks to the AC. Looking over I saw that Oakley was already awake and on her phone.

I grabbed my phone looking through the notifications that had gone off when I was asleep.

"I was thinking we should we shop a little then go night swimming at like 8." Oakley yawned and looked over at me.

"Well Zach invited me to go out with him tonight at 8:30." Her face didn't seem mad like I thought, instead her lips twisted up into a smile.

She squealed much like I did the prior night, "Like a date?"

I shrugged, "I don't know he just asked me to hang out, don't say anything to him."

"I won't." She put her hands up in surrender and giggled.

"Why don't you hang out with Corbyn and Daniel." I suggested and she nodded.

Soon the door to our bedroom opened, her mom peeking her head in, "Dallas got donuts if you want any."

Oakley nodded standing, "Ok thanks mom."

Her mom left and Oakley and I got up walking downstairs into the kitchen.

I took a donut and sat down at the kitchen island, Oakley came soon after setting down her donut and a cup of coffee.

Her mom looked up from her magazine,"what's the plan for today girls?"

"We're going shopping and if we have time we are swimming." I responded taking a bite of the fluffy donut.

Her eyes furrowed, "If you have time? How
long are you shopping for."

Oaky and I giggled slightly and looked at each other.

"Henley has a date at 8:30." Oakley snorted looking at her moms face go from confusion to a slight smile.

I groaned, "I don't know if it's a date."

"Well he obviously likes you."

Her mom put her hands up, "You both have been here for a day and you're already are going on a date?"

I put my hands over my face, "I don't know if it's a date"

Oakley rolled her eyes, "It's a date." She muttered under her breath.

"Anyways, could you please let me drive your car to the shopping outlets." Oakley smiled at her mom.

"No, no way, Dallas can drive you." Mrs.Chanson shook her head.

Oakley threw her head back with a sigh,"Please mom we'll drive right there and right back."

"Fine, right there and right back and don't get caught." Her mom set the keys down on the kitchen table.

We looked at each other with wide eyes then celebrated slightly that we would be able to drive.

We got ready for shopping and soon I found myself in the car with Oakley at the drivers seat.

She stared at her hands on the wheel.

"Are you gonna drive?" I asked turning in my seat.

She looked at me, "I'm to scared."
