Little feet pattered on the hardwood floors of (Name)'s house, and she found herself praying to a unknown deity that those feet weren't covered in jelly or some other godforsaken substance that would take a week to wash off. It was too late for this shit.

She rolled over and lazily shoved her husband. "Please go put him back to bed."

Daiki groaned in response. "He's your nephew."

(Name) pinched the bridge of her nose. "You were the one so eager to teach him basketball- oh forget it. He's coming in here."

As if summoned by the unearthly force that controls all children between the ages of 2 and 9, her nephew, Hinata, toddled in and squealed, "Aunty!!"

(Name) sat up, suddenly hyperaware of how disheveled she looked.

"Hinata, it's very late." She was still figuring out the right balance between "fun aunt" and "strict enough to be respected".

Hinata, having no shame or self awareness, had gotten into the bag of toys that his mother had dropped off with him. He held an action figure in his tiny hands and proceeded to disregard his dear aunt (Name), making fighting sounds as he ran around the room with the toy.

For a couple minutes, (Name) just let it happen. Children confused and scared her, but she'd better practice interacting with them. Dealing with little ones of her own would be much more challenging than watching her brother's kid for a couple days while they were on vacation. Of course, having a 6 year old was pretty far down the road. The first step was telling Daiki that she was pregnant.

Eventually, Hinata climbed up onto their bed and that's where Daiki apparently drew the line.

(Name) felt a smile spread make its way onto her countenance as she watched her husband lift Hinata from the bed and hold him to simulate flight.

"Alright All-Might, time for bed."

Very sweet of him to remember Hinata's favorite super hero.

As Daiki returned Hinata to his bed in the guest room, (Name) could hear the back and forth conversation they were having.

"All-Might doesn't fly!"

"Hm. That's not what he told me."

"What?!"

"I'm just saying, when I was talking to All-Might last week, he told me all about his powers of flight."

"You know All-Might?!"

"Sure do. Maybe I can call him in the morning."

"But I want to talk to All-Might now!"

"Well, he's probably sleeping. Super heroes need to sleep, otherwise they'll be too busy to fight."

After that, it seemed like getting Hinata to sleep was a cakewalk.

(Name) smiled as she welcomed Daiki back under the covers. "Well played."

As her husband pulled her close and hummed his thanks, (Name) fell asleep, comfortable in the knowledge that her special news would be well-received in the morning.

A/N: It's been almost 2 years(?) since I first published this story. I was a sophomore in high school at that point, and I'm heading into senior year now. I just wanted to make something as a 'thank you' for all the support this fic has gotten, despite its age. The views, the comments, and the votes, mean a lot. I see that a lot of you are fond of commenting where you're from on that one chapter where the reader listens to music, and that has blown me away, to see where you all are from. It's nothing short of incredible. Thank you. <3
