'This is it' , (Name) thought, 'This is how I die.'

So far she had knocked over 2 trash cans, broken 1 bubbler ((that's a water cooler/ water fountain for those of you who don't use that term)), and angered 5 people. All because Satsuki was so determined to get her to that gym as fast as she possibly could. Why, (Name) had no idea, but anyone could see that the pinkette was set upon her mission.

"At least tell me why we're going to the gym!", (Name) shouted amid the clamor of the school hallways.

"Nope! It's a surprise!"

"We're going to miss first block!"

"Nah, we'll be fine. I'll just tell the teachers I needed you for basketball. They'll do anything to take a championship title."

(Name) was starting to run out of arguments.

"W-well this is just rude!"

"You'll thank me later."

They stopped at the double doors leading to the gym. Satsuki pushed them upon with gusto and shouted, "I GOT HER!"

(Name) turned a fascinating shade of red as the Tōō basketball club halted their cleanup of the gym to look at them.

A tall blond with broad shoulders spoke up, quite loudly, "Momoi! We're not done cleaning! And... Who is that?"

Satsuki dismissed him with a wave of her hand, "This is (Name), and I believe Aomine has something to say to her. Aomine?"

The focus in the room shifted from the two girls to the boy who laid on the stage portion of the gym. His expression solidified into one of pure panic, and his wide eyes stared, horrified, at the ceiling.

(Name) looked between Satsuki and Aomine, "Wait... What?"

Satsuki giggled, "Come on Aomine. Get over here."

It was all he could do to sit up and look at (Name)'s confused face.

"I-"

Satsuki interrupted him, "No no, you have to come and say it right to her face."

It took a while for Aomine to debate the worst case scenario in his head. Yeah, he wanted to confess to (Name), and he wanted to kiss her enthusiastically, but there was no way he was ready to do it in front of so many people. And there's no way his pride would let him allow Satsuki to dictate the terms of his confession.

Making a decision, he jumped off of the stage and strutted over to (Name), who looked at him expectantly.

Aomine laid one hand on her shoulder and spoke calmly, "Please meet me in the courtyard right after school, today."

Satsuki was about to object, but (Name) cut he off and gave him a gentle smile, "Alright. See you then."

And with that, (Name) was off, the warmth of his hand tingling on her shoulder, and effect of his words evident in her cheeks.

~ to the end of school! ~

(Name) hurriedly shoved her things in her bag, the suspense of what Aomine was going to say was slowly gnawing at her.

She nearly went flying down the stairs at one point in her short journey to the courtyard, but somehow she made it to her destination intact.

Aomine stood under one of the bigger trees in the courtyard, staring at the ground, or his shoes, (Name) couldn't tell from her distance.

As she got closer, she realized that he was napping standing up. He must have been as tired as she was. The very thought led her to pangs of sympathy for the basketball ace.

She slowly approached him, and poked his arm gently to wake him, "Aomine?"

He lifted his head, "Wha... Wh- oh! (Name)! You came."

(Name) almost came back with "Yeah, it's a miracle.", but held her tongue and instead queried, "So, why'd you want to see me here?"

Aomine took a deep breath, this is the moment he's been waiting for since that day in the hospital. No more interruptions.

"(Name), I know-"

"Hey, (Name)-chan! Weren't we going to walk together?" , it seems that boy from English class had found her...

Aomine had been interrupted. Again. And by some boy who wanted to walk (Name) home. What did the world have against his love life? He wanted to tear his hair out, but he limited himself to clenching his fists until they were white.

Suddenly, (Name) leaned close to him and he froze up, was she going to kiss him? He closed his eyes just in case.

Instead of feeling her lips on his, he felt her breath on his ear, she had somehow managed to reach his ear on her tippy toes.

"Keep talking.", she pleaded, "Please. If we ignore him, he'll go away."

An idea popped into Aomine's head but he'd have to confirm something first.

"Is he annoying you?"

"You could say that. He's been insistent on walking me home. I know he means well and he likes me... But he just won't take the hint!"

Aomine smiled a little.

"Can I try something to get him off your back?"

(Name)'s eyes widened, "Yes please, anything to make him stay away. He's so creepy."

Aomine smirked, "Okay. Close your eyes."

(Name) complied, and in the next moment, she felt something warm on her lips. She flickered her eyes open, and soon realized that he was kissing her.

He... He liked her? He like liked her?

Aomine sensed her shock and pulled away, "I-I'm sorry. That was rash of me... Um... He's gone now."

(Name) didn't even look over her shoulder to check. A small smile had make its way into her expression.

"No, it's quite alright. I-I mean, it wasn't rash. I... Uh... Feel the same way."

With those words, she wrapped her arms around his torso and hugged him.

Aomine gently embraced her, "But... I didn't even say anything. How'd you know?"

(Name) smiled against his chest, "I don't know. I guess I just felt it."
