Returning To Rosewood

Emily walked into the gym with towels for each of the girls and her assistant on her heels. In the back of her mind, she still couldn't believe Addison was dead. Of course, she couldn't stand the little witch. But she didn't have to die. She snapped back to when she felt someone tap her shoulder.
"Coach, I'm so nervous!"
She looked down and smiled at one of her favorites, Heather Myers. She was tough, competitive and sweet. She reminded her of herself so much.
"Heather, you're going to do fine. Remember what I taught you and keep your focus."
"I will coach! Thanks for everything!"
She gave her a shoulder hug and high five before walking around in front of the other girls.
"Ladies, the moment is here and I'm proud of the progress that each and everyone of you have made. Remember to keep up with your own stroke rate and keep your focus. You are in control. Keep a clear head and let your body guide you. Good luck!"
Emily went and stood at the finish line for the girls. She felt her phone ding and she saw the text from Ali.
*Babe* -Good luck to you and the girls Coach Fields!
She smiled at the text before sending back a heart and kissy face emojis. Emily put her phone in her pocket and just when she looked up, she saw several of the college scouts enter the building. And there, dead smack in the mix, Paige McCullers.
Paige looked up and their eyes connected. Emily smiled a little and Paige gave a small wave. Emily turned her head when she heard the whistle and focused on her girls.
After the meet, her girls gathered around her in celebration. They'd all done really well, earning the team a gold medal. She hugged each girl and gave them high fives when Paige made her way over.
"Good job Fields. All the girls have your drive."
"Thanks. They're all great girls."
They looked at each other in silence, each looking for something to say to the other.
"How's life?"
Emily looked down and couldn't help but smile.
"Life's great. I can't complain about anything."
"I heard that you have twins?"
"Yeah! Lily and Grace."
"I bet their gorgeous... just like their mother."
Emily looked at Paige and gave her a funny look before taking a look around the gym.
"How long are you here for?"
"Actually, this trip is only for 2 days but I may be sticking around a little longer."
Just as Emily was about to say something, Heather ran up and grabbed her hand.
"Come on Coach! We're about to take our team pic!"
She laughed a little and turned to Paige.
"Hey, go take the picture. We'll catch up later."
As Emily went to her team, Paige looked after her. She sighed before turning and headed back over to her colleague. As she walked to the bleachers, Ali walked into the gym. She noticed Paige and spoke to her. While they were far from okay, they had a mutual understanding. Paige quickened her steps to sit next to her friend and partner, Billy.
"So... was that the infamous Emily?"
"Yep."
"She's hella sexy. Gorgeous complexion, her hair so luxurious."
Paige laughed.
"Billy! You're other side is showing!"
"Sorry. I just have to appreciate a Bad Bitch when I see one!"
They laughed before talking about the swimmers.
"The Heather girl from Rosewood is rather exceptional."
"She's really good! In fact, she reminds me of Em."
They talked about her stats and prepared to go talk with her.
By now, Ali made her way over to Emily all the while stealing glances at Paige. She still didn't fully trust her. She walked to Emily's side and kissed her on the cheek. Emily turned before pulling her into a hug.
"Hi babe!"
"Hiiii!"
"What made you come here? I thought you'd meet up at Spence and Toby's."
"I wanted to come in and congratulate you and the girls!"
"Hey Ms. D!"
Heather ran up and hugged Ali. Emily smiled when all the girls ran up and did the same.
"Good job girls!"
"Are you coming to get pizza with us Ms. D?"
Ali looked at Em and she smiled at her.
"Yes, come with us Ms. D."
She winked at Em before agreeing to go. She decided to take her car so when it's over, Em could just jump in the car with her while the Assistant Coaches took the girls home.
At the pizza parlor, Emily and Ali sat at a table next to the girls. Ali ordered an ultimate slice and cheese slice while Emily ordered pepperoni.
"Sooo, I saw Paige."
"Yeah. I wasn't expecting her to come. Normally, they don't send the head scout out."
"How long is she here?"
"She said two days. Hopefully Heather gets a chance to talk with her. She really wants to go to Ohio State."
Ali looked down at her hands, feeling slightly insecure. She never knew why but she'd always felt some type of way about Paige. Besides Maya, Paige is the only other person Emily has ever looked besides her.
"Hey, what are you thinking?"
Ali smiled at Alison and kissed her.
"About how much I love you and will never let you go."
Emily smiled before laying her cheek on Ali's forehead.
"Please don't ever let me go."
